Each and every day
Colours in waves
Love and nights cause sparks
Tearing us apart

Street lights fading
Cuts my heart
Knowing that the time is past
Comes in waves that don't belong
To me they're silent

Fall back on what you've done
I'll be the only one
These colours before my eyes
I'll be forever colourblind

Each and every day
Colours in waves
Love and nights cause sparks
Tearing us apart

Street lights fading
Cuts my heart
Knowing that the time is past
Comes in waves that don't belong
To me they're silent

Fall back on what you've done

..I keep hearing 'Bullet the blue sky' when the guitar gets off   smackiepipe wrote:
I don't understand why everyone feels they need to copy Bono's singing style. An otherwise OK song but too much U2 influence - to the point of parody.

Sputtering?  Not sure if it will kick out of neutral?

So glad to see this fine band getting featured on RP!  Another solid group that deserves to be far better known than they are.

yep. been playing them on RP since 2003.

Heard it directly after U2 (Fezz etc) and hoped this song was still U2 : it's so much better then most of the U2 "no line on the horizon stuff".

perhaps better to not mention U2 in a South -comment, South do perfectly well as they are

I'd have to travel East to see South. Unless they travel West on tour. {#Ask}

I guess for the same reason so many singers felt like they had to copy Robert Plant's screaming singing style. My husband tells me that I wouldn't dislike Plant's style so much if it weren't for all the cheesy screaming singers that followed in his footsteps.

Great set on a Friday, Bill!!!!!

Ya think??
Reminds me of a possible rendition of a quote in a movie: "You wanna know how I know you're gay?" What? "You like South"
I like this one...
I like the use of a flanger in this.
Nice drum sounds.
The Cure called, they want their riff back. (I keed, I keed, ees good!) 8.

My gorge shall rise again. I tend to agree with the U2 soundalike comments. I liked that sound the first 4 or 5 times I heard it but it really got old a long time ago .

I'm hearing more than a touch of the Edge here.
I guess I'm just going to have to hear this song a few more times. I basically slagged it 10 months ago, but this time I 'liked' it a little better and am bumping it up to a 5.
Are these folks related to MEW? Sounds very MEW-like.
GOOD STUFF
Havent heard this one in a while...great song...RP at its best !
just bumped my rating up a notch. Thanks RP for playing good stuff.
Great, great song, Bill Saw them in Boston a couple of times in at TT the Bear's in Cambridge, MA. With the Tides is definitely worth the purchase
It's because of his shades - he's very kool...

Sounds like Oasis and a bunch of other forgettable bands...

Love this tune! But I agree with Marcel. Bill, are there any other 'South' songs that approach the gorgeous melody of this one, or am I just not noticing when they're on?
Bought this CD used last year. There's one other song that gets played here (I think) that has a melody even better than this one. Can't think of the name of it right now. But overall, not a bad CD (especially since I only paid 3 bucks for it).
Did Bono start a project band? Not really inspiring or different.
A little bombastic in moderation pretty good (ie when I'm in the mood) Executed well...
'nuff said...
Coldplay ... AGAIN????????

I'm afraid I don't know them. Who do they sound like? ;-) Do you give directions to your hometown by telling people to go to your hometown? We all need mile markers and directions. Comparing one new band to four old ones is the best way to do this. That said, if Tux is auto-muting this, it must sound like Radiohead. :-D Likeable tune.

While I don't really agree/mind, that's freakin' hilarous.

Yeah! More bands that sound EXACTLY like U2! It's the death of self-indulgence. The throngs of anti-Radiohead listeners rejoice.
Your kidding me, right?

Sounds good to me!

oh, please. There's no Radiohead in this! It's far less self-indulgent.

A bit of The Cure, Porcupine Tree, AND Ozric Tentacles in this...yet, it sounds original. I like it. A 7....
In addition to the other bands mentioned earlier, I hear a trace of At the Drive-In too(some of the driving guitar part), albeit a much gentler take.
I like this.... Funny that there's about 6 songs of South on RP... Still this is the only one that I've heard so far.... One of these little conspiracies...

Yes, there is. Far too much of it. auto-muted from now on.
cool beginning to the song.. full of sound presence and force.. the rest is ok......

Yeah, that drum pattern (& sound) is mucho-like "up on the catwalk"... which i really dug back in the day... But I was more of a Missing Persons fan. Cucurullo, Bozzio, and a former Hustler centerfold.... what's not to like?

A little Cure in the guitar too.

cOULD BE SOMEWHAT TRUE, rADIOHEAD INFLUENCING pt, YET PT's first album was in the early 90's along with Radiohead, perhaps before Radiohead, and PT has always sounded like PT.Even with their more recent harder edged stuff (which sounds nothing like Radiohead) I personally think PT is better than Radiohead, now onto South. I don't hear too much Radiohead or PT in it, great album though. "Loosen the Hold" and "Motiveless Crimes" are also great.

Huh !? I sure don't see the connection. Maybe you could point a few things to me. I'm curious. It's amazing how perception is a personal thing. Makes for a diverse and interesting world.
What next? "Focus" by Hocus Pocus? Or was it "Hocus Pocus" by Focus? Made about as much sense either way.
Nice! Reminds me of Porcupine Tree (which is a good thing).

wahoo!! i sent this new South cd in to bill and rebecca. happy to see one new song made the cut so far!
Some of the boards have been talking about this group. Thanks for playing; I was curious about them. Nice guitar work. Play more of South.
