Marie Marie
Playing guitar on the back porch
I sit in my car
While she sings so sad
Marie Marie
It's so lonely in these farmlands
Please come with me
To the bright lights downtown
Marie Marie
I said, "Hey, pretty girl Don't you understand
I just want to be your loving man"
Marie Marie
The sun is down in the corn fields
The evening is dark
And you sing so sad
Marie Marie
Marie Marie
I got two weeks in back pay
There's gas in my car
And your folks say I must go
I said, "Hey, pretty girl Don't you understand
I just want to be your loving man"
Marie Marie

Playing guitar on the back porch
I leave in my car
While you sing so sad

Remember when Weasel served this up on WHFS? Those were the days.
Now THAT was a segue!

They've been touring relentlessly this past year and are still at it. Look'em up. On the east coast (again) right now I think.
zesty !
Just saw Phil & Dave do this at Solid Sound Festival in June!
Phil's showing his age, but his pipes still sounded great!

Absolutely - and I'd add True Believers, X, John Dee Graham and John Doe to that list.
Alejandro Escovedo, Los Lobos, Dwight Yoakam and The Blasters, pretty good era

And to think I hated this band when I first heard them.
Nice to hear this song after all those years. Dave and Phil are still going strong!

I'd rather hear Chuck Berry Sweet Little Sixteen......sounds a lot similar except Chuck Berry was ground breaking. Can't say the same for this tune.
Ah, but the Blasters WERE groundbreaking. Dig into it a little.
This is cool. Sounds like a cajun accent.
Can't really get into at my desk here, but I can just picture myself in a dark bar with a beer and smoke having a real good time
Saw these guys on thier reunion tour in San Diego. Man they were good.

The Blasters were/are one of those bands that defines "fun"! I cried like a baby when I had to miss their House of Blues appearance with X!

I like Shakin' Stevens version better (British rockabilly).
Watching this guy sing was always something. I was always afraid he was going to burst a vein or something. Fun band, though.
