Baby's back, dressd in black,
Silver buttons all down her back.
High, low, tipsy toe,
She broke a needle and she can't sew.
Walkin' the dog,
Just a-walkin' her dog.
If you don't know how to do it,
I'll show you how the walk the dog.

Asked the fellow for fifteen cents,
See the fellow he jumped the fence.
Jumped so high he touched the sky,
Never got back till the Fourth of July.
Walkin' the dog,
Just a-walkin' her dog.
If you don't know how to do it,
I'll show you how the walk the dog.

So that's what Dr Feelgood were covering in their rather faster punkier version. Thanks for playing this.

Was 'walking the dog' a euphemism for a carnal activity? These days I guess it'd refer to the less than wholesome practice of dogging, carried out in car parks at the dead of night by, quite literally, w@nkers.
Wally likes it!
Must've been in my childhood when I last heard this. What a surprise!
I like the Dan Zanes version better, real party atmosphere, but it never made it past the LRC

Woof!!
This song and artist's like Rufus Thomas that came from this time era are the fathers of rock and roll.
Hmmmm Atomic Dog .. to Walking the Dog...
Bill, Let's hear some James Brown.
if this hasn't already been featured prominently in a John Waters film, i suppose it's only a matter of time...
What a fantastic segue from George Clinton's Atomic Dog!
one of my all time favorites.. yeah.. nice segue... by the way, another great dog song for around the holidays is Santa Dog by the Residents... cult classic...
I once visited a concert of Rufus Thomas which I won't easily forget. He must have been in his late sixties, early seventies, but was still very dynamic, energetic and entertaining! His outfit was "quite" impressing and funny at the same time, certainly for a man of his age. It contained big coloured boots, shorts(!) and a cape. From time to time he looked in my direction with wide open eyes. Frightening! He was still able to wrap the girls around his finger. During the last of many, many encores (he kept coming back!), he invited some of them on stage to do the Funky Chicken (or something like that) with him and instead of finishing the song, disappeared with them back stage. Probably to perform a whole different version of the Funky Chicken I believe the crowd was even more worn out than he, afterwards, which he had frequently and firmly predicted throughout the concert. Anyone who thinks it's misplaced how Mick Jagger and artists of his age are still behaving on stage, should've seen Rufus Thomas!
It's quite boring song
Wow!! Where did you find this?!! Outasight!
"I feel like Rufus Thomas, the crown prince of dance..."
If you don't know how to do it..... Anyway, if you never checked out Aerosmith's first album, you don't know how. Very underated.
One of those crazy 60's dances!
This is the shiz-nat, hearing the original version of a cover I know oh, so well. Sir Rufus Thomas, Squire of Funk "Oh, I'm feeling it now I feel so unnecessary This is the kind This is the kind of stuff To make you feel like you Want to do something nasty Like waste some chicken gravy On your white shirt Right down front here we go y'all" --Rufus Thomas, "Do The Funky Chicken"
I've always liked the Stones' version of this song, and I am huge Stones fan, but I've got to admit the instruments on this version are far better than the Stones'. Thanks for playing it!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! C'mon now, c'mon, c'mon... How about the live Aerosmith version??
Bill must have found a stack of Stax!!! Keep it up!!!
