Keep it in 1989. Terrible. It's like someone is singing a bad Hallmark card.
Haha this song isn't that bad.....
Love RP, but this song pretty much wraps up all that's wrong with the station in one nice little package of crappola

I like this song, but would like to know ones who dislike it much better.

Decent song, but the break into the chorus seems a bit harsh.
Ha! I moved to CA in '89. Six days before the big quake. Flew out on a one way tkt.
Nice way to wrap things up tonight; time for some shut-eye. 'Night, folks. A wonderful two hours of tunes, Bill. Thanks.
My favorite, but it's made in McKinleyville, which is way north of Shelter Cove and the lost coast.

This one is a bit tamed down... good to hear them in rotation, but their other stuff has more energy.

Last week I fell asleep on the plane and dreamt about sleeping on the plane. My dreams are boring.
They are some what big on the east coast. THis believe me not one of there best ..condidered Prog rock by some

Surely one of the most memorable places I have seen anywhere in the
lower 48.....all 50 for that matter...the song is just a tad sappy, though.

Too true!
It still has a nice sound to it though.
Sap laiden lyrics that beat a catch phrase to death without contributing any meaning to the scenic beauty that occurs along the coastline between Inverness and Crescent City.
Perhaps they should write sound tracks for made-for tv movies.
the music is ok, but I just can't get past the lyrics, it's too bad for me.
reminds me of early 70s sap-rock.
\"Wuv, twue wuv... that dweam within a dweam!\"

Run of the mill...
Yes, it's one of those "And then this happened," songs
Great tune has grown on me
Run of the mill...
Reminds me a bit of Blackmore's Night
Yet I thought that this time it transitioned very well from Moonlight Sonata. Don't know what it was transitioning to/from before.
Hey Bill! Ran outa tissues man! But what a glorious set!
Points for local color, but those are some seriously awkward transitions ...
...just bought it... and it appears on first listen that the rest of it doesn't stand out like "Lost Coast"... but I'll give it more of a chance.
Vaguely reminiscent of "Don't give up" by Peter Gabriel in the verses, methinks. I prefer the original.

Works for me.
Lovely segue from Moonlight Sonata Bill.

Kind of sounds like Sam Phillips.
A bit weepy for me.
Yuck.
Sounds kindof like it could have come from the person who wrote "Total Eclipse of the Heart" from the mid-80's, but after they hit middle age.
Depressing in its suckiness..
What a great song, it has such personal meaning to me, and anyone who has loved and/or lost in the Lost Coast area...
beautiful segue
Wow...that was seamless. I hadn't even realized we had a new song until she started singing. Great segue..

What? Are you kidding?
It's weird but I'm a sucker for songs that mention a date or a place. I dunno... real pretty this one.

Never mind the music; I'm fascinated with those 3 emoticons together.
Pretty much sums up any party right around 3am or so.
(To quote Groucho: "I'm fascinated!" *rolls up shirtsleeve*
" . . . see? Right on the arm." *points to shoulder*)
i want to like it, cause the vocalist has a good voice, and the music is ok, but the lyrics just don't quite work for me somehow...
I really like this. Maybe a BIT overdone in spots, but it definitely brings back my own memories of the PCH....
I like GEG... they have other stuff I like more.
Great act of self-expression, but the message is too personal for me to connect to.
A rare "6".

I just realized this is the first song I can think of that refers to a year within my lifetime nostalgically. Does that mean I'm old now?
Yes. 'Tis a bummer, innit?
Well, actually, not. A wonderful wife, two great kids, and (hopefully) some wisdom are all a pretty good trade for the years.
I'll have to dig this album out. Haven't listened to it in ages.

Another seamless segue Bill! You da man

Too melodramatic for my taste. Not only that - I know the place she's singing about, and believe me it ain't all that. This is (to me at least) a song for elite wine sippers who want to think they have musical taste. Then again, I'm feeling very cynical today.

Ooo this is nice!
Reminds me of a low-rent October Project. But I kinda like it.
Béla Fleck - Moonlight Sonata into Grey Eye Glances - The Lost Coast. I'm following Bill's study of the Moonlight Sonata segue.
BTW - I like the cover of this album.

What a beautiful transition from Moonlight Sonota!!
Mmmm ... new 'found' music. I listen for just this reason. Mmmmarvelous!

Somewhat rough production but otherwise interesting story and writing. Nice hook on the chorus.

I'll second (uhm... third?) that!! That was absolutely brilliant! :-)

oooOOOooo... nice transition from the Moonligh Sonata.
Lovely tune. GEG used to live and rehearse in the next town over from me in Jersey (they still might be there ;-). I have family living on the Lost Coast, and this song captures the mystery and allure of that part of the world. Let's hope developers stay away...

well said.
Beautiful seg from Béla Fleck to this track!
Brillent.
Lovely music and some great song writing too. Just great.
And i LOVE the chorus.
Whoa! What's this? Not bad, that's what it is. Not bad at all. Nice voice, nice melody, nice buildup. Must check out more from this act.
songs like this make me wish I could write music too.
Thought, Feeling, and a wonderful sound! :nodhead:

They make these things called maps. You might want to check one out. Along with a dictionary. While you're there, look up "etiquette" or "tact."
Likeable tune.
It's a conspiracy, this is really Margo Timmons of the Cowboy Junkies. She wanted a more rocking band.

Funny - exactly what I thought, too. I was excited, thinking maybe she had a new CD out.
Stoicly enduring my disappointment, I still managed to enjoy this quite a bit.

Yes. Yes, very. No.
And women's underwear was not meant to be worn on your head. A tinfoil hat will work better, anyway, though not much.
Funny, I've been speculating in precious metals. Gold is on the rise, platinum and unobtanium are up too.

Funny, we visited Shelter Cove a few months back in the spasmodic hope we might buy some land. A Cape Cod wanna be. Real estate is overpriced and the place is REALLY isolated. It's the only town on the Lost Coast in Southern Humboldt County and it has spectacular views.
There are lots of cheap lots if you don't mind that the slope is 70 degrees and that you'll never be allowed to build on it. :P I like Garberville and Willits much better.

Wierd... I was thinking that RP doesn't play these guys that much. About two hours ago I was checking to see if they were on the playlist and here they are... wierd.... This happened twice today. Once with Guster too.

Sounds a lot like Sarah McLachlan
