10:15 on a Saturday night
And the tap drips under the strip light
And I'm sitting in the kitchen sink
And the tap drips
Drip drip drip...
Waiting for the telephone to ring
And I'm wondering where she's been
And I'm crying for yesterday
And the tap drips
Drip drip drip...
It's always the same

And the tap drips

And I'm wondering where she's been
And I'm crying for yesterday
And the tap drips

At the end I always expect the beginning of Accuracy ...
How can someone not like this? Reminds me of Clash first album, but it's Cure!
Or am I too old?
Or am I too old?
I like how it starts breaking into System Of A Down's "Aerials" at the end.
This was such a great album! We all thought we were so avant-garde?!
Only started paying much attention to The Cure in the last few years and this one surprised me. In a good way. The lo-fi simplicity emphasizes the pain of the drip drip drip.
genius - love this tune and this album which I had a tape of in my truck which I listened to so frequently the tape wore out. what a great album of singles...
Great song i ve never heard before - thank you RP!!!
Love this sparse, rhythm based song. There's almost nothing there and yet so much.
Solid and eerie

All i hear is a splash cymbal

I love songs where I think I could play the instruments...
This song is SO low tech, and I LOVE it.
hmm, was it "Disarm"? Same in Feb 19'

The nearest thing to the blues that The Cure does.

Really used to love this song. Takes me back to walking around Mpls. in the middle of winter (Feb. 1980), freezing my "you-know-whats" off!
Reminds me of 1015 Folsom
"Boys Don't Cry" what a great album from 1980. It was on heavy rotation in our dorm rooms and apartments.
Ah yes, great stuff. Back in the days before Robert Smith became a parody of himself.
Excellent song for a rainy night. Drip drip drip drip
This was song made in context along with Killing An Arab - sort of an Albert Camus retrospective. Cool.

Absolutely OK that you don't connect with it... I think its brilliant but thats how I feel.
Am always perplexed why so many feel compelled to knock a song or artist.
Is it the theraputic release served by an outburst of angry criticism ... the search for like minded critics the pleasure of being angry together.
But sad to thrive on negative emotion rather than the warm glow of shared praise.
why does this band exist? can't play, can't sing. oh i know i don't have the cure gene.beat cancer, but this .....not

An absolute classic. Robert Smith before he realized how cute he was. I <3 a lot of The Cure's earlier works. Great stuff.
If "The Forrest" comes up next, I go with cardiac death-
Very big YES
YESSSSS!!

Cure is definitely an interesting band. Everything from sugary pop to dark stuff like this. I have a lot of respect for what they do.

Wow, this takes me back. Listening to Barry Jenkin on Radio Hauraki on a weeknight when I'm supposed to be sleeping before school the next day. Those were the days...

That was a really nice transition from Cold War Kids.

Uh oh! A Cure tune for which I have some respect. Rats!
One of my all-time favorite Cure songs.

LOVE TO THE CURE!
Well, Exciter, you are loud too...
It's true The Cure were a standout in the thin 80'S.
For anyone who dislikes mid- and late-Cure, this should dispel any lingering hope that they were ever any good.
the start sounds like an igniter trying unsuccessfully to start a burner on a stovetop.
I must admit , all that I liked was the photography (album cover) This man has seen ALOT. The photo brings to my mind an old fellow from Greece that I knew when I was a kid. His name was Manoli (not sure of the spelling)..anyway I used to watch him walking along ever so slowly.. cane in hand..I knew that he didn't have many steps left here on earth..he'd look at me with that worn out face and smile. I felt his warm heart shinning out at me..God rest your soul Mr. Manoli
That jagged guitar solo in this always reminds me of another band from this era called Scars...

This is off the Three Imaginary Boys album.
And it is as good as I remember it. It's a materpiece. And I'm not a Cure fanatic.

This is the first Cure song I ever heard (in the mid-80s, live on the 'King Biscuit Flower Hour'). Love their older stuff.

Great, great song.
I loved the cure in the 80's, they were great. Make that a black sweatshirt, and the cloves were the second thing you smoked... 8-<
Never ever ever liked the Cure. My roommate had this CD in college and played "Jumping Someone Else's Train" until I was ready to maim him.
Loveloveloveloveloveit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome. Thanks for the old Cure.
Wow, I haven't heard this song in ages. I used to be a huge Cure fan in the 80's. They got kind of stuck, though. But their early stuff was really progressive. Gosh, it makes me want to don a ripped sweatshirt and smoke a clove. Thanks for the memory, Bill.
