Topic of this tune saddens me. I wish more people were open to persuasion. It requires being heard and understood along with an appropriate amount of listening. Seems these days it's a rarity.

I'm kind of surprised by the large number of negative ratings of this song. I've always really liked it. I'm not as familiar with the Richard Thompson version, but as I remember I liked that as well.

Richard has a bit of history on Tim, but both are bona fide genius'.

Tim did this wonderful song in the Finn Bros. tour a few years ago. It was smoother than this, very, very nice. But as much as I love it, I do think Richard Thompson's version is better, at least the studio version.

Indeed there is. Tim Finn is Crowded House frontman Neil Finn's brother, and was part of the band for one album (Woodface).

I also second the general comments on this version of the song as compared to RT & Teddy's. The latter is soooo beautiful and heartbreaking while this version seems fluffy and jangly; strange to think it was Tim who penned the lyrics. :-k

Great song from the best solo CD Tim Finn has put out. Shows that he doesn't always have to hide in the shadow of his talented younger brother, Neil.
