Amazing how the opening notes take you right to that tag!
Yes... I'm right there with you!

Anyone who likes this song should buy the whole album. It's amazing all the way through.
this is the kind of album you put on in the background when friends are over for dinner... 3 out of any 10 people will ask who it is and want to run out and get themselves a copy (it would be 8 out of 10 for the RP crowd - i'm sure Stingray and Papernapkin could find a way to hate it).
Completely agree. Well said.
Same here
Love the vibe!
That's the first thing I thought of too. Wow, I'm an NPR geek.
Every. Single. Time.
Not that I'm complaining. Still feels like Marco Werman should break in at some point though.
Lasidan is IMNSHO by FAR the best track on this album, but it's currently not on the RP playlist.
upload, upload, upload..............

2. Cue up Talking Timbuktu
3. Cross the second-longest bridge there is (over water)
4. Perform my North Shore duties
5. Repeat in reverse
My life for many years.
On today's GeoQuiz, can you name the city where this journey started?
Gonna go with the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, the city Metairie, Louisiana
...many people mistakenly treat "NPR" as a unified network or genericised trademark, when in fact local public radio stations are independent institutions which produce, buy, and air programming from many different sources, including PRI, NPR, and APM....pacifica radio is of course the granddaddy of this listener-supported radio model, and some of its sister stations even carry the world, but its independent and locally-oriented focus is generally too low-budget to afford most PRI, NPR, or APM programming, which instead is usually aired by more mainstream local public radio stations founded in the wake of the public broadcasting act of 1967, which not-coincidentally also founded NPR...
...so now you know, and knowing is half the battle!..
That is very informative. I'm a huge public radio listener and I often wondered about the differences. Thanks for the info!
I knew that this is the intro music for The World. I was scrolling down to see if anyone else noticed it.
Drive through daiquiri joints place a piece of transparent tape over the X shaped hole in the lid of a styrofoam cup, so it's not (technically) an open container. Well behaved consumption on this stretch of brackish water is not enforced, but 6mph over the speed limit will likely result in an overly dramatic takedown by a special force in vehicles dedicated to patrolling this bridge.

I love you, RP! Unfortunately I can not support you financially, but I am spreading the news about you in every way I can :)
Glad to see many NPR listeners on RP.
Funny how that is....I now get my NPR from Yahoo! I can read while I listen to RP! What a swell set of music this has been once again.

Glad to see many NPR listeners on RP.
Good night, my fellow music lovers. If you're listening and commenting, you're a member of a very cool group of people on this planet. Intelligent. Never one to settle for mediocrity. Aware that music is a universal language.
Thanks, RP.
well said... and we can't get much cooler than this song right here
Me too!
Such a great sound.
It's not new to me, as I've heard it many times on RP, but it sounds particularly good tonight.....
Gotta like Ry Cooder.
