closed doors brings open minds
(and i don't want to see you)
see you smile, inside
(and i don't want to know you)
faces, and i've fallen
(and i don't want to hear you)
wonder why i'm here now
in asylum, don't you see?
in asylum don't you see
doors close and feelings flow
(and i don't want to know you)
through my mind i feel his...
(and i don't want to hear you)
pictures and i've fallen
(and i don't wanna know you)
wonder why im here now
(i promise to be near you)
curse your soul, i don't wanna know you
and i, curse your soul i don't wanna know you...
(and i don't want to see you)
see you smile, inside
(and i don't want to know you)

It's an interesting title, that much can be said. A good Souvlaki, space station aside, should have substance, flavor, an enticing aroma, and at least a slight kick to it.
None of which are found in this song.
Oh, good! It's over.
I really like to run to this song...perfect beat. Their other stuff is good as well; I think some members of this band went on to form Mojave 3.

/wow, that's kinda bleak.
Nice start let down by piss poor production. Jesus! This gets annoying very quickly!!
Where's the aspirin?
can't hit the mute button fast enough..... not good music if you've got a headache ... not good if you don't.
sux - unimaginative and repetative and headache ensues
The first half was good. Like Sigur. However, it's starting to become grating.

Thank you, this helps a lot. Really! My first thought was Sigur Ros, then CT. And IMO anything produced by Eno is GOOD.
cacophonous
i'm all dizzy...and i like it!
very nice..reminds me of Lush from the early 90's. spooky/spacy guitar work.

If this is not Hidden Radio - it's a solid 0.5 on the ratings scale.
Gee, I really didn't like it on that day.
It's a new day and I like it only 0.2 better, so in my book it's jumped to 0.7.
A point in this tune's favor...
Without stuff like this, I don't appreciate my 7-10's as much.
BORING!!!!! Changing the channel after these last two.

Hell, now that you mention it, I am hearing MBV in here (not really a stretch, they're both shoegazer bands). But all the talk of Sigur Ros in the other comments is making me see that too
Okay... Where are the cameras? Or the hidden mikes?

Boiling Point?
Was this for a secret right wing study of rock&roll v nerve deafness?
Please - Tell me it's all a joke!
AAAAGGGHHHHHH!

Also on their recent compilation (RP Link)

The reverb and delay knobs on their equipment must be stuck at max setting or something, but it's still nice to listen to :)
The tune is far better than its name

Yup.

Sigur Ros, Catherine Wheel, Curve...doesn't anyone else think this sounds almost identical to the Cocteau Twins?
Throw in some My Bloody Valentine... but no, not identical... Comparing most albums of both bands. CT went softer/poppier... Sigur Ros does the same trick in a way as Slowdive did. For one, CT tends to have more pronounced vocal stylings and way less pronounced fuzzy guitar layers...

Great minds think alike....

If you like this, try Auburn Lull.... they just released thier second album on Darla. I'm going to try to upload some of their stuff for play on RP
I discovered these guys in the early days of the web... a message board where you could vote your fave CD to umm, "get intimate" with. This was #1 (roxy's avalon was, number 2...) Not everyone's cup o' tea, but there's one song on it that actually makes me dizzy if i crank it up enough.
And yes, it is a very "useful" CD!
Mojave 3's "ask me tomorrow" is pretty -- to me it seems like the companion to neil Young's "harvest". Just something similar about the sense of place they both have, to me.
IMO their best album (third, 1993)... One more followed after which they disbanded into Mojave 3, which has a more acoustic/traditional approach and still make albums...Neil Halstead is the songwriter mostly. Both got a song in the library as well...
Slowdive was initially more along the lines of My Bloody Valentine and/or other 'shoe gazers'...
Sigur Rós reminds me a lot of Slowdive, with Icelandic flavours added...
Personally I like a little more rhythm, melody, etc. to my music.
Got my attention too...interesting overlay of guitars
Hmmm, very interesting. This CD is ten years old and I've never heard it. I'd like to hear one or two more tracks before I committed to buying it, but this is pretty good stuff.
