Dear Bill, There\'s a big male deep bass voice singing \"hubba hubba hubba hubba hubba\" at me in a silly tone, probably wearing a huge cowboy hat and a big mustache, and I\'m really enjoying it. Should I seek help? Thanks, Happy in Holland
...and THIS is why RP is The Best :) Viva Country Dick!

truly, the strangest set of music i've ever heard on RP. is the end of the world nigh?
Duh. Read the news lately? Evidence that armageddon is nigh is overwhelming. Love this set though. c.
Very rare to hear two Dr. Demento songs in a row on RP, rare but not bad...

Ah the Beat Farmers ... along with Mojo Nixon their tracks on "Redneck Rampage" is -- well -- awesome. Hubba Hubba!
Love this tune! And always reminds me of the animation that was done several years ago (think I saw it on an animation series called 'Eye Drops' on TechTV). Thanks for playing this, Bill.

Thanks, Bill, I do feel better now.
Bill! You literally pulled the words from my mouth....I had just finished telling the office "how can you not have a smile when this song is on the radio?"
Holy God, I just spit coffee onto the keyboard.
You've done it again RP :D
One of the Funniest songs I know!
Hello, I'm Johnny Cash.
Saw these guys at the old Sidetrack Cafe, they were SO MUCH fun. Nothing like the light side of music once in a while. Country Dick came into the crowd and got everyone to sit around him like a campfire setting and well, we sang a couple campfire songs. Too bad Country Dick is no longer with us.
The right way to start off the day!

You're missing a couple of "hubbas" there Thanks for the laugh RP. At first, I thought a nereby cube dweller was singing. EDIT: Ok, just read the lyrics. Eww.
My 6 year old son loves this...so do I. Great, messed up oddity of a cool song.

So Great to hear an old classic from progressive radio. Geez...its been 20 years. Thanks Bill & Rebecca

i know this is a little late but I'm new to RP. Does anybody know the name of the "band" that was formed about 7 years ago when Country Dick and Mojo Nixon did a tour together. The band also included the guitarist from X and a few other veterns. I saw them at what used to the the Oasis in San Jose, CA and it was one of the best shows I'd ever been to. Damn I miss tgoing to the Beat Farmers shows... one of a kind.
The Pleasure Barons? Dave Alvin did a stint as guitarist with X, but I wouldn't refer to him as THE guitarist from X. If you know what I mean.
You've gotta hand it to someone who can write a song where gargling works into the song rather well. I wonder how many takes they needed when recording that? "Yea, lemme try it again, but I need some more listerine.."
And some of my uploads were rejected? 8O

I'm holding the CD from that ensemble right here, and they make no mention of a band name, just Country Dick. It also included porn starlet Candye Kane (she says " Country Dick was the only man who could make me blush" in the liner notes). I too miss the Beat Farmers something fierce, even though I never got to see them live. RIP.

Is there something wrong with me ... that I am smiling right now? :)

KPIG used to do the "Happy Boy" marathons periodically. Made me really dislike this song. Hearing it only once (once in a while) is much better.

HEE!
My favorite radio station in Appleton, WI (WAPL) used to play this on their morning show quite frequently. Actually, they probably still do play it, I'm just not there anymore. The absurdity of this song always makes me giggle. \:D/

The good doctor is still out there. Still somewhere on the dial on Sunday night. It does the soul good to listen when you can.
Best gargling song I've ever heard. RIP Country Dick!

This is one of those songs I've heard of from my friends but had never heard before. Now I see what the buzz was about. Thanks for expanding my collection of references ;)
Kazoo playing and gargling matched by no other song! You don't see much of that around anymore. Hubba et al.
HubbaHubbaHubbaHubbaHubba! Long live Country Dick!
