Here ya are, at the top of the tower
Could a body take that much
Alone through every waking hour
Asleep without nobody to touch

Whoa,whoa,whoa,and
Only silence here
Whoa,whoa,whoa,and
Lonely silence here
And I'm not the one
Make your house a home
Makes no sense to stay
Through one more lonely last day
Oh no babe, it's not right

Here ya are, cryin' in the night
Could a body take that much
Find yourself standin' outside
You ain't got nobody to touch

Whoa,whoa,whoa,and
There's only silence here
Whoa,whoa,whoa, and
There's only silence here
And I'm not the one
make your house a home
Makes no sense to stay
Through one more lonely last day
oh no babe, it's not right

so i registered this morning just to find a way to put a note somewhere about the absence of this artist and related bands...please play more! whether it's solo work with the mark lanegan band, the gutter twins with greg dulli or the recent soulsavers stuff...PLEASE PLAY MORE!!!! while i'm on this subject...add anything with greg dulli to that list too...even old afghan whigs stuff but certainly all the twilight singers stuff. all these bands/artists seem they would fit your playlists and rank among the best records ever imo.

this song/record has been a big part of the sound track of my life. an artist of the soul...
Lanegan is truly one of the great singer/songwriters to come out of Seattle. Thanks for playing this, the whole album is great.
To some maybe a great voice. I'm not the one with enough knowledge to rate a voice on qualitee, but for me it's just another anoying voice, and the music does noit make it more easy to listen to. Blech.
one of the great voices in rock...
I like the unpolished quality of his voice.
One of the best songwriters about. In his Screaming Trees days he shone above most of the so called grunge bands. His solo work carried this same ethos
This album is REALLY a good one. I also reccomend the track, "Carnival" to RP -off of this same album. Almost all of Lanegans solo work is chalk full of moody smokey blusey catchy tunes. Good stuff.
I love this song. Sparse yet interesting instrumentation coupled with a fantastic voice.
