How many artists are around as long as this guy without getting stuck in a rut or being forced to totally sell out? Elvis is a rarity.

As for being a fanboy... I think this record is one of his 2 or 3 best. For me, his work was excellent up to and including King of America. Since then, it's been anything but.

As for being a fanboy... I think this record is one of his 2 or 3 best. For me, his work was excellent up to and including King of America. Since then, it's been anything but.
I don't get it. Why isn't EC just one rung higher on the fame ladder?
"with a tuppeny-halfpenny millionaire looking for a fourpenny one" - there's an ancient reference, right enough, one that would mean little to anyone not alive and conscious in 1971 when the UK currency went decimal away from pounds, shillings and pence (or LSD as it used to be known). I wonder when this song was written? Mind you, some words and phrases from the LSD era have survived into modern speech...
