It was crime at the time, but the laws, we changed 'em
Though the hero for hire's forever the same one
Introducing for the first time
Pharoah on the microphone. Sing all hail.
What'll be revealed today
When we peer to the great unknown
From the land of the throne
Awakened to cheers after years on the fault line
We are shocked to be here in the face of the meantime
Pharaoh, all your methods have taught me
Is to separate my blood from bone, it will all fail
Feel what I feel today
When we peer to the great unknown
From the land of the throne
Form a line through here
Form a line through here
Form a line to the throne
Form a line to the throne
Form a line through here
Form a line through here
Form a line to the throne
Form a line to the throne
Alone in the chain, it remains to be seen how
How well you can play when the pawn takes a queen now?
Introducing for the first time
Pharoah on the microphone. Sing all hail

Isn't Admiral Fallow almost exclusively acoustic string instruments - no keyboards or electric guitars? Plus their thick Glaswegian accents should make them easy to distinguish from any other band. There is a similar kind of tempo in some of their songs though.

Bill just segued out of this to the Who's "Happy Jack." Absolutely brilliant, fantastic segue. I can't believe how much the two songs fit together. Thank you Bill!
I really like Neko, but I can live w/o this track.
A distinct kinship with Mitch Easter's first Lets Active recordings.
What a Swell Tune ! Where's it been
I am just an absolute MARK for this kinda sing-along chorus

We're polar-opposites, I think. I LOVE Patty Griffin's voice, but Neko Case's voice is so bombastic to me that I can only handle small doses of her music. She's talented, and she's got a powerful, resonant voice. Sometimes, though, I want less power and a little more nuance, or poignancy. It's just different strokes for different folks, I guess.
Peace?
Maybe it's just me, but I can't get too much Neko Case! Her voice is just totally exciting to me every time and everywhere I hear it! And for the record, I can be irritated by some women's voices (i.e.: Patty Griffin). I've got a fever! and the only cure is . . . More Neko!!!! And I do like this tune as well - Neko just makes it better!

Ergo: "Not enough Neko in this one?"
Great band, love them.
Too much Niko in this one.

Wow, for a minute there, I'd thought the Who had rebanded and talked Neko Case into being a guest vocalist. I see too that Bill followed it with Happy Jack.
Really good tune.
One of Canada's better bands.

Agreed! A brilliant band that produces; brainy, melodic pop music. These guys aren't afraid to explore the genre and they rock live.
I saw these guys last night here in Columbia. This was played. No Neko, but a fantastic show. They ended the main set with the ELO song, "Dont Bring Me Down," which they really nailed Excellent show, they sound great live.

I love this band, but when this song first came on I thought Hannah Montana had forced her way onto RP! Ack!

I see I first commented on this song 4 years ago. I still think it's annoying so I guess it wasn't just my mood back then

This one's OK (and from a 2003 release) but their time is about up.
Agh, this sounds like a cheap commercial! I get the sense that they were trying to do that, but...why?

Indeed! This is straight up pop, but it does not suck! I'm overcome with an urge to do the Twist!

Love sweet melodic pop. Never gets old.
First thought is that it sounded a bit like the oneders -you know that famous Playtone band from the fake '60s.
But I like it -- I really do - want to explore more of TNP and not as fond as Neko solo.
Sounds like Neko snuck in there for some vocal bits -
Good Lord, do these guys write a bad song? Now I am gonna have to put this one on the wish list to. Neko!

Great song for a friday afternoon.

Mmmmmm, ear porn.
A perfect pop treat. Lovin' it!!
Very Josie and the Pussycats - fun!
I give the album cover a 9. This song gets a 2.
nice tune
This song is kind of fun, but I've always thought this album was more like a parody of a pop album. Or a clinical analysis of catchy songs.
"Hm, it should have 'na na na's' and clapping and a drum beat like this."
"Should the words make any sense?"
"Nah, it's catchy."
Instantly nekognisable voice. =)
greatest album and a wonderful song!
I like these guys SO much better than the Old Pornographers. I always used to ask the Old Pornogrpahers, "Where's the mystery? Where's the glamor and seduction?"
And they'd say, "Look, you gonna buy that or just breathe real heavy on it the rest of the night?"
I had no idea Neko was in this band. Have always loved her stuff...
What a nice treat when I opened the CD...
Too bad the whole thing wasn't this cohesive in writing.
Pretty cool. Prefer Neko on her own though. Here it sounds like she's singing with Cheap Trick or something.

:iamwith: Not really stupid - just agreeing wholeheartedly!
Neko may be the greatest thing to happen to music since Elvis Costello.
(To quote Kevin Kline in Fish Called Wanda) uh, don't ever This reminds me of something from the pre-Beatles 50's, but with a modern edge. Loving it!

Stupid drum line. Stupid whiny chorus. Stupid group name. Stupid.
You might guess that I don't like it.

Fantastic song!
Mediocre song
Neko Case rules!
This is soooooo good to hear! WHOOOOOO!
I can help you with this. As a rule if it’s really good it’s Admiral Fallow.
NOTE the exception to this rule is if Neko is singing, then it is also brilliant.
