Self-conscious, derivative. Maybe Stipe or others could've pulled this off, but Josh ain't doin' it.
This guy sounds like Michael Stipe, but younger.
does this song have any originality at all? Sucks REM backwash....

I was thinking "white boy rap" as soon as I heard it; I see I wasn't the only one. #-o
I hate the Cowboys, but I actually like this song and this album and this "group." No accounting for taste. Just ask my accountant.
The Josh Joplin Group? The Josh Joplin Group? It took a group to turn this out? You gotta be kidding.
I like this song quite a bit. The mixed metaphors are too intentionally silly to be pretentious.
Enough, enough, enough. Why does this song get so much airplay here?

Surprised nobody has mentioned Leo Kottke's "Jack Gets Up" - "Every morning when you get up, when you get up, when you get up out of bed"...or something like that.
I thought the same thing, although it does get more orchestrated later in this song where Kottke's stays consistent.
What pretensious stupidity. Juvenile. Did I mention I hate it?

R.E.M. meets Arrested Development....... blech.
Please rid this pretentious, overwrought song from the playlist.
Eventually, Eventually, Eventually this song will end.
Comercial "Automatic For The People" soundalike...
sounds really REM-like, though not quite so creative. still, nice enough.
I like a good play on words. Good sound. An 8.
Preppy rap
This is terrible.
Surprised nobody has mentioned Leo Kottke's "Jack Gets Up" which this is a dead ringer for, except the quirkiness doesn't work here, IMHO. "Every morning when you get up, when you get up, when you get up out of bed"...or something like that. Just lowered my rating to 3. I hate the the spoken parts of this song.
Somehow both goofy and pretentious. And overplayed on this station.
Didn't some of those lyrics come form another song?

"I'm not the only Cauflield who's catching more than kids." Nice allusion.
I hope this song ends eventually, eventually, eventually,.
Joplin's local. He sucks!

I think he sounds just like Brian VanderArk of the Verve Pipe. Used to see them in E. Lansing before they made it big. But they're defunct now. That's what you get for going corporate....
Yes, he does sound like Stipe, but is even more pretentious! Who knew that was possible?

The song will be over eventually, eventually, eventually :)
I am continually amazed by this song! I've gotta get the album!
Wow - good song! Whoot!
Good song, just like one'd expect from JJ, but why does this have a higher rating than Camera One?
Sounds like they're borrowing from Lou Reed's "Take A Walk On The Wild Side".
Voice sounds a bit like Michael Stipe, but a pleasant enough tune.
