We live around the hydro towers,Listen to them singing in the park
Wind our clock too tight, And all the radios are glowing in the dark
Mothers lie down in the day time, And dream about Hollywood
I know that they'd get there if they could

It's just a matter of time, Before we get to shine
It's not a question of when, Or who does the crime

We show our skin through picture windows,
Sit around cross legged on the floor
Our living rooms electric, TVs, light bulbs, irons, cancer to the core
Out in our back yards waiting,For women in flying saucers
Under the stars and power lines

The fans and the air conditioners, Runnin' in movie houses,
The mother's not coming home again

Don't forget Mr. Neil Young. That should keep the apology meter going for another 50 years or so.{#Silenced}{#Clap}

{#Naughty}    Ain't nothin' wrong with the Mr. Neil Young. And you don't even need to sniff Wite-Out to know that.

These guys had a run of two or three really good records.

Tom Wilson went on to form another moderately successful Canadian band called Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, who still gig from time to time, and he opened for Beth Orton doing a solo acoustic thing when she came to Toronto.

I hear ya about the day job thing —- if I could live on 1/10 of what I earn now I'd be playing music instead.

The "Best of Junkhouse"?? Were they not a 1 hit wonder? They had this and a great tune called "Out of My Head" that simply kicks ass - However being Canadian Artists - They either make it big down south or - Keep a day job

So Im guessing they are plumbing or doing roofing or drywall work now in Ontario somewhere

too bad - Out of My Head is still one of my all time favs

Dude! Don't give up that they're Canadian! We already have to answer for Brian Adams and Celine Dion!

I'm hearing Hoyt Axton. At least they're channeling him vocally.

Still waiting for these clowns to shine ...
This song sounds like it is straight out of the 70's. I like it.
Appropriately named band. Decent at best.

This along with songs by Oasis, Collective Soul and a few others I can't think of at the moment always brings me back to that post-grunge era of music back when I was finishing high school. I can't believe that was ten years ago.
lol brace yourself they're gonna fly right by at the speed of life.

What a weird cover is that? Guys with long hair looking at different places and a bucket of daisy, surreal.

Only Junkhouse released this song well before the Beta Band released any of their albums.

By the way, "Wherefore art thou...?" means "Why are you...?", not "Where are you...? "Wherefore art thou Romeo?" = "Why are you Romeo?"
Suprised to see this rated lower than a 6, yea it's a simple tune but solid and catchy.

I like it, too. Except sometimes when I think I really hate it. But the decent rating stands. . . .
It didn't come to me until about halfway through, but this reminds me of The Verve. I like it.
Stellar... smooth... like it.

:nodhead:
Reminds me of John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band period and that ain't bad.

This isn't the best song for an introduction to Junkhouse. Late 90s live venues were the golden years for this band.
I don't know. I'm hearing Beta Band in the guitar riff...
Reminds me of Shawn Mullins more than anything else.

Yeah, but not bad.
I give it a 6 for the lyrics. Poignant and plaintive.

I likes it. Very cool.

Yes, and a very poor effort at "yeah" to re-emphasize the blandness.
I would like to listen to him, singing a song that serves his voice right. This song is just OK, but not really great. Somehow it only remains promising. A good, heavy sound and a suiting, somewhat lazy drive, though.

this is the second time I've heard this. I like it. makes my hips move
Tom Wilson (lead vocals in Junkhouse) is very good. Saw him open for David Grey, and Wilson was the highlight of the night. He has a side project with Steven Fearing and Colin Linden called Blackie and the Rodeo Kings ----- that material, and Steven's and Colin's solo stuff, would be a great fit on RP. The Blackie and the Rodeo Kings I'm familiar with is called Kings of Love --> great double CD.
