I did an exhaustive search, was willing to pay for the song but only found it on reverbnation without ability to buy/download. I used a chrome extension and upload it to clyp.it . I know some of you are looking for this one too, hope they don't bring my link down: https://clyp.it/22frgljk?token...
you sir, are a gentleman, a scholar, and a mental space savior. hahaha - thanks for making this happen.

Thanks for this.
*would have sworn it!
😳
Great song. I would like to find the lyrics. Anybody?
The only part you need to know:
It's a beautiful world
There's a beautiful girl sitting with me
I think it's worth our while
To lean back and smile while it happens....
That's what I'm planning to do after work tonight...
nice song.
I Agree. I never heard of them before. That is why we come here. Thanx RP!

Thank you soooo much! I've been searching for it ever since I heard it on RP. Today when it came on again I started reading the the comments - and found your link. Its still alive. Long live RP!
You're having trouble because the band was never signed and there's another band who didn't do their due diligence and are using the same name. This song is on "Set Me Free". "Leaving L.A." is a better record IMO. I own all of their recordings and saw them live countless times. They were a very fun college band comprised of some genuinely good human beings. That URL goes to an error page, but there is this one: https://www.thezookeepers.com/
Also this link: https://www.reverbnation.com/t...
Someone is selling the CD on eBay.
upped to 8 from 7 - just because.
happy song, we need this!
Same!
happy song, we need this!
ok, come on. This song is impossible to find. You have to play it more often! It’s kinda your responsibility. 😉 This was my first time hearing it, I’ll listen for it again.
SAME HERE!!!!

Nice one - you have my thanks!
I also would be willing to pay for it, but had no luck tracking it down.
I found the Knocking Round the Zoo CD on Discogs for 5 or 20 euros.

This website looks like something Disney spent a couple million on in an effort to promote the Captain Marvel movie. Still trying to find the links to the Blockbuster coupons.
and than some!
I only found it here but it's not downloadable :(

The Zookeepers
Country rock lives!
Took me years but I finally found it. The entire CD is not as cool but they were a pretty good band during their brief reign. PM me if you want information on how to find them.
The above link for Artist's website is broken. I'm not affiliated with the band or either of the linked websites in any way, shape or fashion. I just really like this song and am excited I finally found where I can get my grubby little hands on a copy!
To my ear, not even close. This song shares characteristics with a general back beat and bass line from a few Femme Songs ("Add It Up" comes to mind first). IMO, Femmes were more of the punk generation, and this sounds more folk/zydeco-ish to me. (Please, no flames from genre purists).
Walkin smilin
:)
double bump
No more like Loudon Wainright the III.
double bump
Fun little tune. Toes are a tappin.
I like this song, but your comment just made me laugh out loud.....
Yes, they got together and formed a band. But I'm worried, who's looking after the animals now?
Maybe they set the animals free, or adopted them out to good homes. And I SO love a "cheerful little ditty" (to quote Bill.)
Agreed . . . great feel! Makes me think of my wife . . . "It's a beautiful world, there's a beautiful girl sitting with me!" and no, she's not sitting next to me making me type this.
bump
nevertheless, i find this song boring...
Aw, yeahhhh....
Thanks for the Love RP!
Back at ya, dude. Yeah, I don't get it either. Seems like this one and Izzy's "Over the Rainbow/Wonderful World," among many, seem to bring out the worst in some folks. I mean, here's an upbeat tune about having fun and being alive, and WHAM! BAM! BOOM! here come the haters, like flies to honey. Now that Halo 3 is out, maybe they can shoot zombies or something more productive than cluttering up the song boards.
Not every tune needs to be transcendent, people.
Lighten up folks - it's not political! (or is it....? )
Thanks for the Love RP!
Agreed. It bites.
I love you guys, but RP get's turned-down every time this comes on.
I like it.

Yes, lots of trouble. The biggest roadblock was not wanting it.
Put down the bong... step away slowly...
Thanks crockydile! I love this kind of information. For those (few I hope) who have never heard of Eric Burdon and the Animals, they were part of the British Invasion in the 1960s and had a big hit with the song 'The House of the Rising Sun'.
comments like this make RP addictive
Yes, they got together and formed a band. But I'm worried, who's looking after the animals now?
Eric Burdon reformed the Animals with a new backing band in 1998 as Eric Burdon and the New Animals. This was actually just a rename of an existing band he had been touring with in various forms since 1990. Members of this new group included Dean Restum, Dave Meros, Neal Morse and Aynsley Dunbar. Martin Gerschwitz replaced Morse in 1999 and Dunbar was replaced by Bernie Pershey in 2001. In 2003 the band started touring as Eric Burdon and the Animals. After the line-up changed in 2006 original guitarist Hilton Valentine reunited with the group for its 2008 tours. The group also included Red Young, Paula O'Rourke and Tony Braunagle. After Burdon lost the rights to the name, he formed a new band with completely different musicians.

Song # 143, 873 with the chords C, G and D !
Maybe I'll finally go home and write one today, 40 years late.
Right, perfect. And the result is some of the blandest pop-rock to ever be played on RP.
eh...
Me too! It instantly puts me in a good mood!
ew.
Anymore.
