Judge give me life this mornin', down on old Parchman's Farm.
Judge give me life this mornin', down on old Parchman's Farm.
I wouldn't hate it so bad, but I miss my wife and my home.
Now, good-bye wife, all you have done gone, all you have done gone.
Well, good-bye wife, all you have done gone.
But I hope someday you will hear my lonesome song.
You go to work in the mornin', just the dawn of day,
just the dawn of day.
Go to work in the mornin', just at the dawn of day.
And at the settin' of the sun that is when your work is done.
Now, listen you men: I don't mean no harm, I don't mean no harm.
Now, listen. You men. I don't mean no harm.
If you wanna do good you better stay off old Parchman's Farm.
I'm down on old Parchman's Farm, but ISure wanna go back home, Wanna go back home.
I'm down on old Parchman's Farm, but I sure wanna go back home.
And I hope some day that I will overcome.

I think it is named for the Starr Hill Brewery near UVA; he is based out of Charlottesville apparently.

Can anyone tell me where the "Star Hill" of the album title is? There's a brewery in Virginia called Star Hill ...

I can't think of a reason not to rate this 10

I uploaded "Aginst The Law" from the album "Mermaid Avenue" by Billy Bragg & Wilco... the track that features Corey Harris. So, go listen to the LRC and vote it up!

Definitely a story there--they were probably doing some insanely stupid stunt that only kids can come up with. My brother as a ten year old drove our kid's wagon down a steep paved hill. To spice things up after the second run, he plonked an orange crate in the wagon's cavity and sat on that while zooming downhill. Mom witnessed that feat and gently instructed him to find something else to do.
I had my own "helping friend" experience. While climbing a tree at a party as a six year old, a new acquaintance dared me to let go of the branches with my hands and just stand on the limbs. That lasted about three seconds. I fell all the way down to the ground, bouncing off branches like a goddamned pachinko ball. Mom and Dad said that they aged ten years watching me drop.
Corey should dedicate a song to your sis...
6 degrees story:
This guy accidentally helped my friend's sister break her arm when they were kids in Denver.
Great old-soul bluesman action going on here.

Wow... this is some awesome blues...
miss you so much, Cynaera...
I've never heard of this artist, but yeah, that slide is wicked-good. The vocals are pretty dead-on, too. Might have to give this another few listens, but from this one, I really love the whole vibe. Blues-meets-speed-rock, in the best possible way...
