Stories and cigarettes ruin lives of lesser girls
And I wanna know
'Cause I want you to know
And it's a strange condition
A day in prison
It's got me out of my head, and I don't know what I came for
Send me the money, baby, do not leave out the wage
You know you're the best thing ever to come out of this place
And I want you to know
'Cause I wanna know
And it's a strange condition
A day in prison
It's got me out of my head, and I don't know what I came for
Oh, I want you to know
It's a strange condition
A day in prison
It's got me out of my head, and I don't know what I came for
Oh, I want you to know
I want you to know
So leave out the others, baby, say I'm the only one
Cut out the uniforms and settle with the sun
Hey, I want you to know
'Cause I wanna know
And it's a strange condition
And life in prison
It's got me outta my head, and I don't know what I came for
Oh, I want you to know
I want you to know
I want you to know
Yeah, I want you to know
I want you to know
Yeah, I want you to know
I want you to know
'Cause I gotta know
Yeah, I gotta know
Yeah, I gotta know
Yeah, I gotta know
Oh oh
This strikes me as a brave comment to post, funny, but brave.
I really enjoyed this album when it first came out.
Saw him live as well... good show.
It's been a while... I think I should give that disc another spin.

"Strange Condition" is a song by American musician Pete Yorn. Produced and recorded by R. Walt Vincent and Brad Wood, it appears on his first studio album Musicforthemorningafter. It also appears on Yorn's 2000 Sunset EP as well as on the soundtrack to the films Me, Myself & Irene, 40 Days and 40 Nights, and The Sweetest Thing. Released as a single in 2002, the song peaked at #36 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks. The single version features additional collaborative instrumentation by R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck.<<<
I'm pretty sure this version played again tonight is from the Sunset LP or the single version, & not the debut LP. It just doesn't sound like the album version, and I listened "extra closely"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is an excellent song and all too often Pete Yorn doesn't get the respect he deserves.

This man is right on point.
It will. It's grown on me and immediately puts me in my happy place.
