(a year ahead)
…& a light is crushin' through, going out &
Flying ("Down so soon?"). A ripple in the stares
Is reining, too (the 'passed' was played (it smoked
& stayed!).)
"I'm glad I rolled; I'm glad you came."
But, has it ever been darker than today?
Morning: bring us back to find innocence as
A word, as a kind, arced, up in a northern town
Holding up
Face-down: '... a sure little wonder,' we'd been
Told, 'where mystery walks so mean & low.'
("Hello..."): I remember nothing I tried to speak
Always stirring. Couldn't you stand a little sleep?
"I came home on an inside line. But, how'd you
Know? How'd you believe?

There is a similarity in their phrasing and twang, but Jay Farrar projects much more. This guy sounds like he's lying down on a sofa. Not a bad tune otherwise.

I think he sounds a bit like Jay Farrar, or vice versa. More so on other songs than this one....but it's there, a little bit, in my ear.
I agree, there is some Son Volt here.

Definitely hearing the Pete Yorn...and liking it...

to me, this guy sounds exactly like the singer from a band called Paw. listen to the mellower parts of the "sleeping bag" sample track from their cd, Dragline.
This does sound just like Mark Hennessy.

Whoa... I didn't know Eddie Vedder and Pete Yorn had a kid together!
That would be awesome! They could name her Heather Nova and she could perform the world's sweetest rendition of "Gloomy Sunday." I would really dig that. A lot. Seriously.
The best part is when it ends

This guy sounds just like that group...memory failing me...
sang that tune.
" ..never wanna look that way,
you're Cousin IT!
DROWN!
Never try so hard!"
Just thought to look under MUSIC, Son Volt!

Thought this was Eddie Veder for a moment there.....
Strange...
On the other hand, for those who like this: I'm sure you'll love an artist called Christian Kjellvander. I'm not sure whether his albums are released in the US though, but maybe his band Loosegoats have an album or two out over there!
This is excellent stuff. I have never heard Richard Buckner's stuff on here until now. I have Impasse, Bloomed, Since, The Hill, Devotion and doubt, and the new one, Dents and Shells. All are incredible albums!
And a pitch to his new album! I have to say that Dents and Shells is exceptional and it would be great to here some new stuff from this album.
Nice to hear Buckner here. The only album I have of his is THE HILL, which is pretty good, except I believe the CD is only 1 track.
Thought this was Eddie Veder for a moment there.....
Works very nicely.
I really like this guy's music and I love his voice, DHG. Thanks for uploading it! :goodvibes:
The Talking Heads (and David Byrne) are to eclectic radio what the Gypsy Kings are to coffeeshops

Replying to an 11-year-old song comment.
