Wouldn't be the first time love made a fool of me
Wouldn't even care but now you're here to see
It comes as no surprise
Just leave the light on

What I wouldn't give if you could have it all
The sun that's going down the bed that breaks the fall
The cradle and the bow
So you can take comfort now
You can take comfort now...

Sometimes a heart can break and make its own relief
The way a cold dark night invites the fire thief
He wants to show us how
So we can take comfort now
We can take comfort now
We can take comfort now

Leave the light on...

There is a thin line between syrup and honey.
This is one toe inside the honey side of the line.

This is really very pretty.
Great Voice!
Exquisite.  Thanks again, RP.
Motel 6 theme song?
Some voices can scoop/slide in my ears all day long...
Do you know how much the electric bill is going to be

Is it just me, or does this sound a lot like 10K Maniacs with Mary Ramsey doing lead vocals?

yes, Sandy Denny and Karen Carpenter gentleness in ways

We'll leave the light on for you.

Reminds me of the Coors. A little over produced for my taste or maybe current mood but I like it.

Wow, I looked over your song ratings, and I wouldn't disagree with you on what I scanned.  But in this case, I do disagree.

Lots of love for this song, but not from me.  I cannot stand Hem. If I have to hear this in a commercial, I can tolerate it--but that's where it belongs.

Overall reminds me of a cleaner sounding, happier K's Choice.

Forgot how much I love Hem once upon a time. Their first two albums were my favorite and then I'm not sure what happened.  Still a great tune.

Yes, this is a very nice tune.

Thank you, Bill and RP, for once again exposing me (!!) to an artist whom I most likely would never have heard anywhere else, which is saying a lot since I have satellite radio in my car, cable music channels at my disposal at home (most of them *oughtta* go in the disposal!) as well as apple TV for streaming web music (always on RP!). I clicked through the link to buy the mp3 cd on Amazon. First time I've ever downloaded an mp3 album - I own many hundreds of "real" CDs and it's hard to make the switch, but hey - ya gotta get with the times at some point! (I mention this only because I like to remind listeners that RP gets a lil monetary compensation whenever listeners click through to Amazon or iTunes from the RP website) Thanks again!

She sings right in key, like Margot Timmons.  I always appreciate that.  I don't mind the sleepiness; I need sleep sometimes.

I know it's not entirely this artist's fault, but the last 4 songs (Baker Street, that Hans Zimmer ditty, To Sheila, this one) could be the featured hits for a new K-Tel album: Boredom Rock!

Nice song from a pleasant album.  Great for snuggling or calming one down during rush hour.

Excellent. Truly excellent. I have loved the transition of the playlist today. From rocking out with Ozzy, Foo Fighters and Led Zepplin flowing eloquently to chilling out with this does a good morning make.

The most amazing voice I've never heard... ever.

Love this, haven't heard it in a while.

Hem is just amazing.  I would give anything to see them live!

This is just serene, I love Hem & I'd really like to see them live on 2009.

....and the Alison Krauss + Hem idea would be a magical pairing.

Run Hem and Allison Kraus side by side - wow, beautiful voices here . . . roll into stones Heaven?

Real pretty tune! Thanks Bill for yet another group I'd never heard of.

Like the Indigo Girls' little sister(s).
(To my taste, that would be a compliment.)

New and improved lady-ballads, now with less twang.
Ok wow, what a perfect followup to the Pumpkins. Great musical moments today.
Reminds me of Cowboy Junkies, with less whining.
I really like the subtle instrumental flourishes. Loverly!
This is an example of how well HEM's music is evolving, but Rabbit Songs is still their best over-all effort.
sweet jane... sweet jane... wha? no dat aint it
This is great. And I've never yet found any HEM music I don't like.
i think they did a real disservice to themselves by selling the rights to this and Half Acre to State Farm or whichever insurance company... hearing it on television all the time had the effect of heightening the already considerable muzac-y quality of the music...
