I'll be the grapes fermented, bottled and served with the table set
In my finest suit, like a perfect gentleman
I'll be the fire escape that's bolted to the ancient brick
Where you will sit and contemplate your day

I'll be the waterwings that save you if you start drowning in
An open tab when your judgment's on the brink.
I'll be the phonograph that plays your favorite
Albums back as you're lying there
Drifting off to sleep (drifting off to sleep)

I'll be the platform shoes, undo what heredity's done to you
You won't have to strain to look into my eyes
I'll be your winter coat, buttoned and zipped straight to the throat
With the collar up so you won't catch a cold

I want to take you far from the cynics in this town
And kiss you on the mouth
We'll cut our bodies free from the tethers of this scene
Start a brand new colony
Where everything will change, we'll give ourselves new names
Identities erased
The sun will heat the grounds under our bare feet
In this brand new colony (in this brand new colony)

Everything will change, ooh
Everything will change, ooh
Everything will change, ooh

The song blows, but I had a damn good laugh at most of the comments for it!
Great for RP
As stupid as late postal service!
It's like walking through a Vegas casino...

With really bad music playing in the background.
This sucks

Let's hope they stop playing every day of the week. {#Stop}

but at least we have Forever Stamps now.

I hear they are considering not playing on Saturdays anymore.
This is bad. Very, very  bad. Atop that, it's the Postal Service. Bad Postal Service. That's a solid 1. Mute.
I really did think that this was The Shins, and did a double-take when I looked at the playlist. I should have known it wasn't The Shins, though, as I could understand the lyrics... ;)
Here we come Mario Brothers.  I love this beat!

I can appreciate that purists of various camps can't deal with the blips and blops. But as an afficiando of blippy and bloppy music, this really is a cut above the rest. Those words, the development of the chorus, the great shift in rhythm at the end, this is just a well-crafted song (the fact that it's a *song* at all, as opposed to a sequenced groove that goes basically nowhere, and which often includes token, trite lyrics)

Well said Bearcat.

Sounds just like DCFC!                                    {#Cheesygrin}

That's because it is the singer from Death Cab for Cutie.

Aw, come on! I don't buy that!. I am beginning to get on in years, and I hardly ever play video games. But as soon as this started to play I thought: "what the hey is with the Nintendo music?" That said, it's not THAT bad...
weird. I've never thought video game. I must be old. And I really like the lyrics.
It's Pet Shop Boys do elevator musaque
Blech.

I love this song. If you can't get past the music (which I happen to enjoy, but To Each Their Own....) at least try to catch the words. Well done, I say.
+1
Anyone know the cheat code to stop this crap? Hang on...L-L-R-L-Up-L-A/B-hold...I think I've got it!

https://www.pacmanhattan.com/ watch while listening. trust me on this one. actually, there's volume, so you may wanna pause the moojoo.
Hate to be negative even in the slightest but this and that inane other tune they do sounds a bit too kindergarten compared to the many staggering works otherwise heard on RP...

Some of us find the dulcet sounds of an NES' sound processor very therapeutic.
the sounds, the lyrics, quite interesting.
Hey 1987 called...they want Super Mario Bros. back. Blech!
I can't help but like this song...
Beep beep boink boink.
Death Cab For Cutie covers "Pac-Man Fever!"
I think he's such a master of melody...both in Death Cab and for this little project of his.
I saw the 5 votes was a bit low, so i give it a 5. But it's a bit boring really, don't you think?
I'll be your whatever. *yawn*
Like my old videos games!!! ^^ love it!!!
oh my god. i thought someone was playing duck hunt.
Wish my mailperson delivered this kind of stuff.
Upped to a 3. It's not that bad. Have to dig up my old Gameboy.
I just love these little dudes
I think these guys are soooo 80's-liscious!! Makes me believe in good music again. New Wave staying alive!
This must be what Death Cab for Cutie reminds me of....vocally anyway.
That electronic bit sounds like a lottery ticket machine when you get have winning ticket...
This is awesome. I want to meet the lyricist or their clone at least!
Love these guys, and the whole subpop company. Love DCFC. Found them when I needed something the most, the isolation sucked and these guys helped keep my spirits up! Love it!
it will never cease to amaze me how RP just knows what i want/need to hear.

Super Mario Brothers.
Some know ... some don't. :)
Super Mario Brothers, Donkey Kong, or whatever, this song does it for me. Makes me crank my speakers and bob my head, and love the sentiment in the chorus--sever our tethers to the big cities!
I don't like it when artists try to replicate the distortion I get when I turn the volume on cheap speakers too high.
catchy tune, kinda fun.... vocals remind me of Pet Shop Boys, music is like the old Popcorn song from the 60's... hmm, undecided lol :-k
Got a Casio for Christmas, this is what happens.

aaaaah yessss. postal service. i usually dont like synthesized music but.....postal service is my favourite of electronica. this song is excellent. i love their that whole album, especially the famous 'such great heights' :goodvibes.gif: i love female voice too

Totally. They spliced it up well.
Or it could be Donkey Cong
I thought this was Estradasphere at first, then remembered that they would never make such lame music.
No... sorry...
Typical of The Postal Service. This arrived at my computer with one side caved in, and a big stain on it, like it fell in the mud.
Ho Hum pretty much sums it up.
Oh man, get a real drum kit and kick it! This techno drum sound is really crappy.
Um.... No thanks.

Musically insignificant until the interlude. Nice changeup with the tempo and weaving bass with the techno beat. Wouldn't buy the album, but didn't turn down the volume either.

It's retro already, I think it will hang on. It doesn't do much for me though :/

Pop music of the 80s gets slagged here on RP, obviously much of it was popular at the time. I wonder if PS and DCforC are going to go down the same path: they are well-liked now, it seems, but is the Casio keyboard plinking going to stand the test of time?
