To be lost in the forest, to be caught adrift
You've been trying to reach me, you bought me a book
To be lost in the forest, to be caught adrift
I've been paid, I've been paid

To be lost in the forest, to be caught adrift
You've been trying to reach me, you bought me a book
To be lost in the forest, to be caught adrift
I've been paid, I've been paid, I've been

Don't get offended if I seem absent-minded
Just keep telling me facts and keep making me smiling
And Don't get offended if I seem absent-minded
I get tongue-tied

Baby, you've got to be more discerning
I've never known what is good for me
Baby, you've got to be more demanding
I will be yours

I'll pay for you anytime

And you told me you wanted to eat up my sadness
Well, jump right, enjoy, you can gorge away
And you told me you wanted to eat up my sadness
Jump right

Baby, you've got to be more discerning
I've never known what is good for me and
Baby, you've got to be more demanding
Jump left

What are you holding out for?
What's always in the way?
Why so damn absent-minded?
Why so scared of romance?

This modern love
Breaks me
This modern love
Wastes me

Do you wanna come over and kill some time?
Do you wanna come over and kill some time?
Do you wanna come over and kill some time?
Throw your arms around me

My 4 year old daughter loves this song. I prefer to think she has good taste, as opposed to Bloc Party's music being best suited for 4 year olds.

This person's daughter is now 22, and I remember this song new as an adult.

I feel old.

Oh wow, haven't heard this song in years and it just rocketed me back to my college dorm room.  Loved this song then, still love it now.

haha, I was about to comment the almost exact same thing (except for the college dorm which I didn't have) and then got sidetracked by the fact the last comment was made 17 years ago... Has it not been played in all that time??
Glad to hear it has made its way back then :)

Sounds like Interpol, but less suicidal.

I heard Guster throughout. Are these guys pre- or post- Guster? Who's influencing who?

The song might make me go postal

I dig this band! Saw them live @ SXSW in Austin...great show. There's been a recent wave of talented artists from the UK lately...this is one of them.
I quite like it. I think it sounds like American-style indie-pop rock to me.
I like it! More people should offer to pay for me anytime.
No thanks.
i like it, but it will grow old pretty quickly.

"Every me ends every you" Huh? What does that mean? It's repeated enough to make me think it's 'important'.
Wow- this song is really annoying.
Okay I'll bite. This song is interesting. Of course, I am drinking. Very british. Very Feelies with brit overtones.
