How long before I get in?
Before it starts, before I begin?
How long before you decide?
Before I know what it feels like?
Where to, where do I go?
If you never try, then you'll never know
How long do I have to climb
Up on the side of this mountain of mine?
Look up, I look up at night
Planets are moving at the speed of light
Climb up, up in the trees
Every chance that you get is a chance you seize
How long am I going to stand
With my head stuck under the sand?
I'll start before I can stop
Before I see things the right way up
All that noise and all that sound
All those places I got found
And birds go flying at the speed of sound
To show you how it all began
Birds came flying from the underground
If you could see it, then you'd understand
Ideas that you'll never find
All the inventors could never design
The buildings that you put up
Japan and China all lit up
The sign that I couldn't read
Or a light that I couldn't see
Some things you have to believe
But others are puzzles, puzzling me
All that noise and all that sound
All those places I got found
And birds go flying at the speed of sound
To show you how it all began
Birds came flying from the underground
If you could see it, then you'd understand
Oh, when you see it, then you'll understand
All those signs, I knew what they meant
Some things you can't invent
Some get made and some get sent, ooh
And birds go flying at the speed of sound
To show you how it all began
Birds came flying from the underground
If you could see it, then you'd understand
Oh, when you see it, then you'll understand

There's a thrust that comes in advance of a hang glider lifting off from a takeoff perch. You feel the gust get stronger and then it's powerful enough. You trust the power and GO.
This song and, for the most part, this band do that for me.
Whoooooooosh.......

Im not trying to spam or something, I love this Radio but hate this singer, so I made a script to "mute Winamp or have it play a saved track or another Radio, or even shutdown my computer" when they are playing. Can't stand hearing their (music)
I'm with Mr. Bond. If that script would also work on my car stereo I'd pay a pretty penny for it.

I don't get the Tetris album art. I'm not picking out an "X & Y," nor a "CP." Anyone got anything?

I enjoyed these guys when their first album came out.
The second was ok for a while.
Then, all downhill.
Their music just isn't interesting.

Have to agree, still one of my top road-trip discs. Very cinematic.

First comment in 6 months. I think if people realized how incredibly hard it is to come up with even a hummable melody they wouldnt ho-hum this. 8

The problem with hearing this is that it's a very dull song from a very good album, probably the weakest and yet most played song on there. Tracks like A Message and Swallowed In The Sea are ignored in favour of this distinctly mediocre offering, not to mention some of the excellent tracks off other albums of theirs.
I'd like to see this song animated.
I used to like Coldplay when they were not so messianic.

"Biggest" yeah...Biggest joke!
Nothing like a Coldplay song to bring out the negative comments. It is not uncommon to reflexively dislike anything reaching the level of worldwide popularity that this band and album have. Most people do grow out of that phase eventually.

Yes. Some bands know that some of us geezers secretly love syncopated drums, continuous arpeggios, reverb-synth in the production, and a post-new wave sensibility. I hate myself for loving it, but I do love it and I would be lying if I said I didn't.

No doubt, they are a promising band! However, a bit less commercially oriented, they would have the potential to join the giants...

Yeah, there are a few songs that I find myself bopping my head to, and I feel guilty because I know it's not good.

Yeah, but "Running Up That Hill" is actually exciting and good.
Coldplay leaves me cold...it all sounds like the same damn wimped out song.
I like it. Is this what you call a guilty pleasure?
At first when I saw this in the playlist I got all excited. Then I turned on the audio stream and discovered that I'd momentarily confused this track listing with "High Speed". You know, from back when they didn't used to suck?
i really never understood why Coldplay became one of the biggest british bands worldwide when we have far superior offerings that never really made it on a global scale

Despite the fact that I hear this song ALL THE TIME, I still like it.

Say what you will, but as far as I'm concerned the chorus saves the song big time.

The song begins similarly to Clocks.
You've got to love a group that wants to be more than great. They want to be the best - even better than U2! This song has an expansive feel much like some of the Joshua Tree (In God's Country, Streets, Etc.).
Gosh, it really is Clocks all over again...that's incredibly dissappointing...at least that's only case during the verse portion.
I still gave it a 6, which is really low for me to give Coldplay.

enjoyable. standard, atmospheric Coldplay.
re-frying "clocks"... pitty
This is Coldplay. Yup. Unmistakable.
But I like that kind of thing.
