For all these years
I've been rushing and running away
I have seen the cities
The bars and the beaches are full
To keep away from you
I know I'll meet you
One day, for a lifetime
I'm scared
One thousand years I could live on your smile
I'm scared
And run away forever
For all that time I've been crazy
There is no escape
Come back to the city
Come back in the hotel and wait
The city waits forever
I've been rushing and running away
I have seen the cities
The bars and the beaches are full
To keep away from you
I know I'll meet you
One day, for a lifetime
I'm scared
One thousand years I could live on your smile
I'm scared
And run away forever
For all that time I've been crazy
There is no escape
Come back to the city
Come back in the hotel and wait
The city waits forever

Every once in a while yellow will show up on my itunes playlist in the car and I get a bunch of grief from my family.

Each time I hear Yello, I know one thing: this DEFINITELY is my radio station.
Wow! What a tune!! 10 from me.
If ever there was a band deserving of an eclectic station like RP to dig deeper into their catalog, Yello is it. There were among a handful '80s groups that inspired me by venturing deep into arty electronics, and the output varied from experimental to near pop. My short list also includes Art Of Noise and Cabaret Voltaire. Inspirational stuff for synth and sound collage fans.
This is awesome! Thank you best cut so far this afternoon!
My first exposure to Yello was in 1983 while watching REM's afternoon "happy hour" soundcheck for their very first gig at Washington D.C.'s 930 Club when it was at 930 F St. Just prior to REM starting their sound check the club was running a Yello music video on the newly installed TV screens, Yello coming in on Rock America which preceded MTV. The video was sorta capitivating. Who WERE those guys? One guy looks like Hitler, the other like a Latino heartthrob of some kind. The tune was catchy anyway and I've never forgotten that experience and I've been a Yello fan ever since.
Clarification: By REM I mean the band from Athens, Ga., not D.C.'s own REM aka Rapid Eye Movement which being a local band without a major label didn't have the legal clout against the Georgia based band of the same name. On this occasion both bands played 930 that night with a contest whereby the audience favorite got to rename the other band. Radio Free Europe won over the crowd and Mike Mills renamed the local DC band to Egoslavia that night and the rest is history. How this relates to Yello reverts back to the RockAmerica video.

Great to hear Yello any time.
Yellows is great! Could you play a New song from them? Lalalalala would be too funny.

Yeah ok I have to agree - it's a Frankie goes to Hollywwod and Pink Floyd together - hey maybe their hidden offspring ! Thank you RP

Always liked this one. Definitely worth at least an 8. Yeah, the bass line is definitely reminiscent of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Relax. Or probably vice versa, no?.
Just got an 8 from me. Great rythym and bass.
First time I've heard this. I like that bass line!
Bill, yet another great piece in a wonderful morning of music .

Yello did a lot of interesting stuff. I used to listen to them quite often, in an altered frame of mind, and they were very entertaining. Funny thing is I didn't know many people who knew they did anything more than their Oh Yeah song.

How old is this track? It has aged quite well....can't place it, but guessing it is 20+ years old.

So I was going to log in, rate it low and point out how it sounds like really bad Frankie Goes to Hollywood (who I actually liked, BTW). I guess other people already noticed that.

More Yello Bill......I've been listening to their stuff since 1982...very cool..
"He" is actually two guys. And they seem alive and well. From Allmusic:
The ambitious Swiss electronic duo Yello comprised vocalist/conceptualist Dieter Meier -- a millionaire industrialist, professional gambler, and member of Switzerland's national golf team -- and composer/arranger Boris Blank.
How can you not love this concept?
To me this sounds a lot like Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Is there a connection between Yello and Frankie?

You have to love Yello, if for no other reason than AMG's description of member Dieter Meier as "a millionaire industrialist, professional gambler, and member of Switzerland's national golf team".
That guy goes out for drinks with Buckaroo Banzai.
I haven't heard this in YEARS! I used to freak out my college roomates by playing my Yello tapes as we drove through the desolate Mexican desert on spring break- a lifetime ago.
Awesome album. Each track is a little different but as a whole spectacular. Man did I have some good times listening to this album with altered states!
Love this track. Love everything they've ever done tbh, lol. There's loads more Yello that's suitable for a station like this. 10 out of 10
I noticed a few people comparing this to Pink Floyd...just in case they were wondering what it was...it's the mmmmmmmm thing; sounds like he's about to say he needs a dirty woman. Other than that, I don't think there's much similarity, but it's not bad just being what it is.
