Since we are all so good at hearing the influences in songs, anyone else hear Siouxsie & the Banshees Cities in Dust?
Way Siouxsie. Love it.
love it...!
10:48 am - Sons & Daughters - Dance Me In 10:45 am - Sly and the Family Stone - Dance To The Music 10:41 am - The Kinks - Come Dancing 10:34 am - David Bowie - Let's Dance Oh darn, this really kills the mood, Bill. I get the theme and all, but to go from Dance to the Music to THIS? Bleh.
Probably has been said before, but - dance me out.
Is that Joe Strummer! How great is this!
This and the Entrain that just played almost makes up for the Abba in this set. Almost.
Nice Album Title. Not. terrible shyte.... yucko!
6 in a row now Dancing the day away.
... ...
Thanks for playing this. It's one of those songs I've heard a few times on various radio stations but never actually caught who it was. Now I know.. I like it more every time I hear it too.

Agreed, not original. I definitely hear Patti Smith in this song..... In her voice, not in the lyrics.
I rarely give anything a one but I find this one annoying on so many levels.
Ouuuuuuuch
Just sounds too angry for me today. Not feeling this one at all...

Or, perhaps, Throwing Muses.

DITTO!
I like it. The guitars off the top sounded like Sonic Youth, but they're an odd mix.
Rhythm section sounds very much like "Fish" by Throwing Muses.
definite cowbell!

Sounds a hell like a poor version of "Tupelo" by Nick Cave and the bad seeds. Where has the originality gone !?

Are they always this angry?
No, I will not dance you in. Ha! :sticking tongue out:

Okay. But what does it mean? My lateral thinking processor is on the blink.
It means quit thinkin' and start dancin'. Great tune.
tis CD isnt that great, but their EP Love Cup is real solid and catchy! give it a listen
The vocals are nasally and annoying. This is crap.
I was wondering what the love children of Dexi's Midnight's Runners were up to. No..........

I dance vicariously.
Your jammin' bananas cracked me up!
Even better today.
I dance vicariously.
Mick Jagger once said that rock and roll is only three chords and energy. This tune has both..
Somebody, dance her in, will ya!!

This is the very definition of catchy! Love this!
Okay. But what does it mean? My lateral thinking processor is on the blink.
I like it. Siouxsie, P Smith, N Cave channel...nice groove.

Me, I have no problem hating this.

Definitely channeling Patti Smith...Not a bad thing to do...
This album is aptly titled.
Patti with Siouxie in the body of Nick

I totally hear that. I came to the board to check if anyone else noticed it.
This song would suck if she had a great voice. I like this raw post-punky stuff.

Man I can't believe the poor rating. This is a hot cut IMHO.
yeah - apart from the woah, woahs
Wild guess from nowhere: is this a really attractive lead singer who's been repeatedly told she has a good voice?

Same here!

Please dont play this anymore ... it reminds too much of sloppy indie bands of the punk days
First time I've heard it... since I like sloppy indie bands of the punk days, I thought it was pretty great.

I hear you Bill! It's a very nice song that deserves more than the 4 it currently has. 9/10
I also heard you and I definitely agree. I like this song a lot; but I don't know why it kind of remind me of Siouxie & the Banshees... Greetings from Mexico! Marie

Not a girl to bring home to mom !!! Edit: ahhh she's Scottish, that explains it - gotta be at least as angry as Surley Manson to compete
Pretty low rating, but I think it rocks!
Wow! Patty Larkin on speed!

Sounds really Indie.... They need to clean the sound and tighten up the whole package a little Nice... but to be honest there is a lot better out there that Radio Paradise could play Kinda reminds me of early 80's punk in Vancouver at the "Smiling Buddah"
i think you're missing the note: dirty and loose is what it is! encore!

vocals remind a bit of early Patti Smith.
This is not doing it for me....

Am I the only one who thought this was a nicely rockin' little tune?
It's excellent . . .
admittedly, this one is not "catchy" or laden with pop-hooks...definitely a bit of a challenge, but I find it gets better with each listen. Sons & Daughters is a relatively unknown band with some X/Exene, Clash, Patty Smith, Donna the Buffalo DNA... I bought the Repulsion Box after watching/listening to S&D's recent session on KCRW/Morning Becomes Eclectic...I discover more with each spin...I'm liking it... cheers!
