You can turn back the tide of the cold tears from your eyes,
The pangs of wounded pride if you hold me.
Did someone do you wrong yeah,
Good lovin's good as gone.
Maybe you ain't as strong as you wanna be.

Chorus:
It's alright if you don't wanna go home.
It's alright if you don't wanna be alone.
It's alright if you don't wanna go home.
I understand.

Nothin' stays if it's gotta go now.
You can't get water from a stone now.
Sometimes you've got to think about
The things you're gonna love.
You can point the finger at him.
You can say you've suffered for your sins.
Somehow it never was, never was good enough.

Chorus.

Bridge:
When the morning comes and you put yourself together
To face another day.
And when the day is done and you ain't feelin' better
You come walkin' my way.

Now that you're doing alright,
You're pretty much outta sight.
I don't see you knockin' 'round my door anymore.
I'm glad to hear you're doing well,
But I know that time will tell.
Only when you're broken down, is that what friends are for?
It's alright if you just wanna go home.
It's alright if you just wanna be alone.
It's alright if you just wanna go home.

Yet another of your oh so insightful comments.

It's uncanny how diametrically opposite the actuality the soi-disant the"wise"king is.

Good line up:  George Harrison, Elbow, and BHTMThat made my day.
Bill's tapped into my early 90's brain today.  Great times, places and people.

Just saw these guys twice while they were touring through SoCal in the past month, Jan 2020. They sound great and put on a very good live show. JD Simo opened up for them, was pretty impressed with him as well. First started listening to them when I was a river guide and one of my friend's popped in the Midnight Radio cd while I was bbqing at the river outpost. I liked them immediately and have seen them a half dozen times over the years since. Sister Hazel is a very good singer and a force of nature on stage too! Go see them if you get the chance

I fell in love with Colorado a number of years ago when a road trip became a stay in Boulder with a group of friends trip. I realise tastes are different but I think Big Head are a truly wonderful band and if any of them have a Scottish granny I'd be more than happy to claim them!

You crack me up, ScottishWillie - although based on last names I'd say the band has English/Irish background (Mohr, Nevin, Squires, Lawton)  which means they very likely do have a Scottish granny somewhere in there.....Long Live RP!!

I’m really getting into this band from Radio Paradise airplay. Anyone like to recommend a good first album to introduce myself to them?

Sister Sweetly is my favorite album of theirs.  And Bittersweet is my favorite track on it.

Sweet.  Skipped here after listening to Los Lobos - The Town.  Both superb tracks and it was interesting to read both sets of comments referring to similarities with Indigenous.  Never heard them played on RP though...

I think this album (Sister Sweetly) is a good one to start with....I think it was their 3rd album, although the band had a big following for their live shows.  And yeah...terrible band name and great music...I've rated this an 8.  Long Live RP!!

{#Roflol}Fantastic laidback chilling groove! I love it!! Never gets old.

YEAH!  A double-dose of cool Colorado bands here on this fine early fall day; Trout Steak Revival and Big Head Todd & The Monsters!

Indigenous does sound a bit like BHTM. But, Todd and the boys predate them by a good bit, I think.

Sweet.  8 from the Bristol office today.
it's easy to give this one a 7

Find a nice live recording of BHTM's Bittersweet and put it in your daily rotation! Even better than this classic.
Love these guys.  Possibly the worst band name in history though.  Makes me ashamed to discuss them: "Hey you guys hear the new Big Head Todd and the ... forget it."   Up there with Toad the Wet Sprocket, and the like.

YES!  Amazing memories, all those fabulous Friday Afternoon Club gigs out on the UMC Terrace and in the Alferd Packer Grill...Did we know how GOOD we had it?  Maybe not, but one thing we were sure of: Todd was even then a rock-solid blues-jammin' Guitar Man, and The Monsters were no slouches at their game, either!  Feels so darned good to keep seeing and hearing them so long later, still goin' strong!

Still love Big Head Todd.  Still can't forgive KBCO and The Peak for overexposing Bittersweet to the point that I can't stand to hear it anymore.
Ugh. Way to make me actually navigate away, RP.

Saw these guys last month at House of Blues on Sunset Strip....good show......
Saw Todd and the Monsters live in Norfolk, VA, some years ago, 5 feet away from the stage in an outdoor park.  One of those shows that blows away expectations.  I really enjoyed their cover of the Nat King Cole song, "Mona Lisa".  I've been trying ever since to find a recording of it.
Old-school BHTM is everywhere these days (really!) I'm kinda lovin it!

Nice, but the live version is so much better. These guys are great live!
INDEED THEY ARE! and how's about lettin' a little Runaway Train go, Bill?
Say it's all right (it's all right) Say it's all right (it's all right) It's all right, have a good time 'Cause it's all right, whoa, it's all right-Curtis Mayfield Just change a few words and notes and it's almost as good as writing your own song. If they had changed the melody a little more I might not have noticed.
Nice, but the live version is so much better. These guys are great live!
Nice groove.Sounds a bit like Joe Jackson. No bad thing.
It's alright...

You'll probably like Strategem, too! and Riviera has a great groove or two -- "Runaway Train" totally rocks!
This disc is in every sorority girl's collection for a reason. good stuff.
Big Head Todd... EXCELLENT. reminds me of austin tx crusin'... ahhhhh! :)
I don't think the lead vocalist could hear himself in the monitor on this one...
Play the Moose song.
Hopefully the monster goes crazy and eats everyone.. yo bartender.
It's Alright
Love it!! Saw them a couple of weeks ago in Charleston. Fantastic show as always, including Hazel Miller on backup vocals. A MUST SEE if they're ever in your area.
I like this song 'cuz you can get just about any woman to groove with you to it.
Heh. Worked with me. =P
groovy...
Just got back from a trip to see these guys in Isle of Palms. Great concert(s) - great fun...as usual. I like this song 'cuz you can get just about any woman to groove with you to it.

My favorite BHTM tune.
The more I hear this band, the more I like them.
One of my all time favorite Bands and Albums
Takes me back to the GOOD part of high school - I LOVE this song!!
i've always liked big head todd and the monsters. they're awesome.
They just played in Myrtle Beach on a weeknight. 90 min ride. Damn these workdays. I must be getting old, because getting out of a show at 1am followed by a long drive home followed by my alarm going off at 5:45am just didn't sound like rock and roll to me. So I passed....
BHTM rocks! great band!
Allright for a romantic occasion.
Doesn\'t get much better than this. Such a good groove. Great band. New CD \"Riviera\" to be released in March. You can pre-order at www.bigheadtodd.com
I step away from my desk for 2 seconds and miss Big Head Todd!
Great tune.. Classic BHTM. Keep it comming!
I have always thought this band to be very mediocre in both vocals, lyrics and musical ability.
