To let myself go
To let myself flow
Is the only way of being
There's no use telling me
There's no use taking a step back
A step back for me...
To let myself flow
Is the only way of being
There's no use telling me
There's no use taking a step back
A step back for me...

Nice tune! Great voice!
Loving the lyrics today.
I like this song, her voice is great, I just wish there was a little more too it.
What a diamond of a voice.....and a sympathetic mood. Cheers.

No words. You just have to see it for yourselves. If a nude dancer offends you, don't watch it. Thanks again RP.

Trans-rock seems to be the vogue right now.

I'd go for either "Temporary Dive" or "It all starts with one", the latter probably the more complete record.
But anything Ane does is quite brilliant
I'm beginning to like her more and more, time to invest in one of her Cd's....any suggestions?

Temporary Dive is a lovely record. It's a bit sad and soulful, in the mood of this song, so if you like this you'll enjoy the rest of the album. :-)
Ane is lovely, thanks for the hint about 'Temporary Dive', will definitely check it out more. Have to see her live soon

This woman is absolutely brilliant. Saw her twice in Helsinki and she is a true talent!
hauntingly beautiful.
Just saw her at the Largo in L.A. last night. The night before she was at the Hollywood Bowl with Peter Gabriel. She was perfect and very nice to us all. In person her voice is perfect. There were only about 60 of us and she took the time to thank us all and sign for us. She is as sweet and sincere as they come. I wish all could see her sing, it is a treat I would do it again in a heart beat.
Now that was right for this time of night, take a hit mr visa, RP is doing its stuff again. 9
...next 9!

I love this song. Haunting, lyrical vocals... beautifully complimented by the accompaniment. Good job.
I let myself go and my eyes get wet: beautiful song 8 -> 9
Ane Brun is simply wonderful to listen to. I love her voice. This is a great CD, by the way, and one which I unconditionally recommend!
Cheers to this comment. I'm thrilled to have been exposed to this gal. Thank you, Norway!

Funny this doesn't sound like Norwegian music ;-)
So what does Norwegian music sound like? Personally I think its fairly representative with its somewhat dark mood and calm flowing sound.
Maybe it's just me, but your choice of music today sounds awfully damned "mournful." Need something upbeat for my shitty mood?

Bill just said: "Right now from Sweden - Ane Brun...". To clear things up - she's from Norway but currently lives in Stockholm, Sweden.
And I'm so happy to hear so much swedish music here on RP - Kent, Cardigans, Koop, Jose Gonzalez, Soundtrack of our lives, Anna Ternheim, Sophie Zelmani...
(btw, I love Norway :)
Saw Ane play a gig in London last week.....and she's very good live to put it mildly. Bought this album from here and have been most impressed with all of the songs on the album including her collaboration with Ron Sexsmith.

What a pleasant tune - in all aspects.
Nice to hear Ane here on RP. She's from the same county as me here in Norway. Last year I attended a concert with her at Molde Jazz festival. Check out her CD's and be looking for a tune called "Lift me".

She's Norwegian, too, so the Viking helmet thing works in more ways than one!
can we get some upbeat music around here?

You don't need much to make beautiful music, just a guitar is enough. Beautiful song, like all Ane Brun songs!
