Let me hear you again, now, oh baby, sir

Sweetheart, darling, bear in mind all the time
That a constant friend is hard to find, find
But when you find one that is good and kind, oh

Never you change, never you change
Old for new, oh darling
Never you change, never you change
Old for new

Because I love you, is that I want you to know
That I really, really, really love you so
So, so, so, darling, you remember when we both were small
I never fall in love before, but it's you my heart is aching for

Ooh, ooh, my people
Just keep on, darling, bear in mind all the time
That a constant friend is hard to find, find
But when you find one that is good and kind

Never you change, never you change
Old for new, oh darling, please never you change
Never you change
Old for new, oh darling, never, never
Never you change
Old for new, oh darling

I don't disagree, but man, it does tempt one to prolong the week-end!

How could this song have such a poor rating? What's not to like?? Got a beat easy to dance to. Is this site overrun by a bunch of skinheads?

I don't think you're playing this record at the right speed.

I find it very difficult to find any Bad Reggae from the 1970's
I don't like a ton of Toots, but I like this. Thanks RP!
This is real good, but I like the Toots' faster version of this same song.
a 10?  Seriously?  First time listening to it? This is one of the best songs you have ever heard?  Godlike??!!!

Please - stop the grade inflation!

Sounds a bit like Bob Marley meets The Police.  What would this be classified as?  Reggae?  Reggae-rock?  I really don't care.  This gets a 10 in my book.

I dunno, mon, but I do know Toots & The Maytals were the real originals:

""Do the Reggay", {is} a 1968 single widely credited with coining the word "reggae" ~ Wikipedia

I first heard—and bought—this LP in 1975. Toots Hibbert is the MAN!
Warning! Premature is about underage sex with a girl.
Check out Funky Kingston too!

Why I love reggae
Doesn't really work as part of this set, after all those chill-out tunes.

Toots definitely got soul. They are both great... equally great in my book.
it might be blasphemy but I think of Swing Low Sweet Chariot.

The reggae haters are just more vocal. (Just as some U2/Radiohead bashers are.)

A tautological statement: Reggae got soul, indeed!
