Standing still
But you've had your day
Had the face
But you won't stay
Slowed down, weighed down
Right into me
It's not right
Waved on, helped on
Right into you
Goodbye
Read your mind
But you have your needs
Hopeless times
But you are so pleased
Slowed down, weighed down
Right into me
It's not right
Waved on, helped on
Right into you
Goodbye
But you've had your day
Had the face
But you won't stay
Slowed down, weighed down
Right into me
It's not right
Waved on, helped on
Right into you
Goodbye
Read your mind
But you have your needs
Hopeless times
But you are so pleased
Slowed down, weighed down
Right into me
It's not right
Waved on, helped on
Right into you
Goodbye

This cover reminds me of the Southern California office building of my nightmares -
It is a mudslide earthquake wildfire crash into the ocean to be attacked by sharks waiting to happen.
Engineers indeed, they will forever be Architects to me because of this cover.
I like cover art!!! so it gets godlike....>>>>>>>>

shouldn't we keep the ratings strictly reflecting the MUSIC?

Not heard of these before. Really like the song. The Bio on AllMusic describes them perfectly.......
I'd never heard of this band before I started listening to RP and although I'm not crazy about this kind of music, I do find that this song is starting to grow on me.
Never heard them before but I like their dreamy soundscape type of music.

Me too, not too original but well done.

Or something out of Aeon Flux.

(Not implying anyone here needs to take one, just that this song is like taking one)
Just caught the end of this...would like to hear it again.
This song, and the CD it's on, is well worth owning if you like a super-hypnotic experience with great melodies. Too bad they only really have one stand-alone CD.

Baby, what a poor set!!!
Bedridden Robert Zimmerman (let's be serious and objective), empty Moby, Devo, Mazy Star and The Vines!!! Wahoooo...
But here comes "music with soul" again with The Melodians and Little Richard.
THX, RP!
i can't tell if this is sarcasm or seriousness. either way it's a bit over the top..
This song really bites.

For a second there I thought you were predicting the future. I think we're in the same set now, but I doubt the soul music is going to play this time around.
Gotta say I like the harmony on this song. A good harmony gets me everytime.

is it the weekend yet?
Engineers are nowhere near as boring as this song.
Lennony.
Reminds me of Queensryche - Silent Lucidity
Hey! I are an Engineer! Or, as my friends say, an 'Enginerd".
This is the kind of band name that you would have sworn would have already been taken. Well, much like "The Vines," coincidentally.

Atsa funny. I'm an engineer too, but I came to say that I dig the name. Just after college, my buddy and I were working as engineers (electrical and mechanical if you must know) and playing in a band. Our "Five Year Plan" was to be successful engineers for five years, and then be rock stars. We'll, we're still engineers, 21 years later.
Awesome! "Five year plan"

Art of Fighting and Engineers go really well together, another Masterly segue from The Man and yea, new music for the hordes, love it!
Bland, boring, banal snooze fest.

Hmmm, sounds kinda like Lush and a track from Undertow. Not bad, though
I'm falling asleep here.
cool
Starts as an 8 for me...

Right on! By my iron ring secured firmly on the pinky of my working hand!! (It gets a 3 for the music too)
