Ah, ah, ah-duh-ah-uh
Ah, ah, ah-duh-

This is how it works
It feels a little worse
Than when we drove our hearse
Right through that screaming crowd

While laughin' up a storm
Until we were just bone
Until it got so warm
That none of us could sleep

And all the styrofoam
Began to melt away
We tried to find some worms
To aid in the decay

But none of 'em were home
Inside their catacomb
A million ancient bees
Began to sting our knees

While we were on our knees
Prayin' that disease
Would leave the ones we love
And never come again

On the radio
We heard "November Rain"
That solo's real long
But it's a pretty song

We listened to it twice
'Cause the DJ was aslee-eep

Bum-bu-bu-bu-bum

This is how it works
You're young until you're not
You love until you don't
You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry
You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe
Until their dyin' breath

No, this is how it works
You peer inside yourself
You take the things you like
Then try to love the things you took

And then you take that love you made
And stick it into some
Someone else's heart
Pumpin' someone else's blood

And walking arm in arm
You hope it don't get harmed
But even if it does
You'll just do it all again, and

On the radio
You'll hear "November Rain"
That solo's awful long
But it's a good refrain

You listen to it twice
'Cause the DJ is asleep
On the radio (Oh-oh-oh)
On the radio
On the radio, uh-oh
On the radio, uh-oh
On the radio, uh-oh
On the radio-oh-ohhh
Mmm-mm

Bum-ba-dum-ba-dum-bum
Bum-ba-dum-ba-dum-bum
Ba-da-dum
Ba-da-dum
Ohh-oh
Ah, ah, ah-duh-ah-uh
Ah, ah, ah-duh-ah-uh
Ah, ah, ah-duh-ah-uh
Ah, ah, ah-duh-ah-uh
Ah, ah, ah-duh-ah-uh
Ah, ah, ah-duh-ah-uh
Ah, ah, ah-duh-ah-ah

Yep, but once you acquire the taste this song goes from annoying to charming!

Hey Bill - take a nap and play November Rain
when EXACTLY did Mister Rogers write this...?

There are better songs on this cd but regardless Regina is an aquired taste. But I like that the song refers to a Guns and Roses song.  In fact, Bill, play November Rain!

"On the raydeo, uh-oh". She sounds like a Tellytubby in that one, and the "ah-ah-ad-ah-ah-huh" is quite irritating. Other than that it's a half-decent song.

oH, stop it please!
I've liked what I've heard from her in the past, but this came through as nothing but fluff. I checked the lyrics, which read like Poe - Edgar, that is - so, I'll try to hear past the irritating vocals next time.

Sounds nice, pert an' purty too!
Her singing is so cute and precious... It fills me with an intense urge to kick her in the shin and make her cry.
yummmmmy + funnnnn ...like eating a cupcake at a party.
This song is an oh-so-pleasant splinter in my brain. Every time I hear it, I hum it for hours afterward. I love the unexpected melodic twists and turns of Regina's songs. Listening to her is like driving a twisty road entirely too fast.
One day Bill - your gonna surprise me and play November Rain :) But I think your gonna play 1 more radio song :)
good god, we need more of her stuff on here. she is great great great live! just such a presence.
Feist-y.
...weird song..

She has a fresh sound, & a few songs which I really do enjoy. :)
Hi Bill, Can you play November Rain - Thanks, James

noooooooo, those ah-ahah-ahah-ah-aahh's are exactly why I love her music. just like her mmm'ming and the radio-o-o-oh's from this song. she doesn't just sing the lyrics, she's part of the music, part of the instrumentation. Karen O does similar things with the yeah yeah yeahs. so distinctive, so gosh darn cute! i love it!
Like the lyrics, but not the music.
Hi Bill - you should play November rain after this - you can play it twice and go to sleep
ahh, its not that bad... i guess... too cutesy.

Just writing this to add a positive comment: although not my favourite on the album and, admittedly, the song's earwig-like quality is not easy to deal with, it reminded me that it's *me* who decides what goes round and round in my head! Regina's album is, without a doubt, among the most exciting new records out there. I am particularly impressed with the positive-ness it spreads everytime it plays. I'd love to see Regina live - various mini videos on Youtube hint at the fact that it's a real event. Regina is contagious!

Try as I might, I just can't maintain eye contact with that big, red and white "third eye" staring me down. Same with this song. When it comes on, all I think is "when is that annoying part going to start?" Sure, it's my bugaboo, but IMHO the songwriter(s) could have been a bit more clever, and found a better device.
Yah, that's pretty much exactly what gets me about it... I mean, maybe the lyrics are all sweet and what-all, but damn if I can't get past the annoying sound of it, I'm not going to appreciate the lyrics. That would be like licking off the dog crap you dropped your ice cream cone into, just to get to the sweet center. No thanks.
Hi Bill - It would be nice to hear November Rain
man, surprised by all the negativity! it is such a sweet meaningful song...trying to cope with something horrifying (cancer) by looking at life as a whole and finding beauty and comfort in the mundane (november rain on the radio) and the will to just keep going: While we were on our knees Praying that disease Would leave the ones we love And never come again On the radio We heard November Rain That solo's really long But it's a pretty song We listened to it twice 'Cause the DJ was asleep This is how it works You're young until you're not You love until you don't You try until you can't You laugh until you cry You cry until you laugh And everyone must breathe Until their dying breath No, this is how it works You peer inside yourself You take the things you like And try to love the things you took And then you take that love you made And stick it into some Someone else's heart Pumping someone else's blood And walking arm in arm You hope it don't get harmed But even if it does You'll just do it all again Jeez. "November Rain" is referenced twice in the chorus of the song "On the Radio" by Regina Spektor: "On the radio/We heard November Rain/The (guitar) solo's awful long/But it's a pretty song" and "And on the radio/You hear November Rain/That solo's awful long/But it's a good refrain"

love it... it really sticks to me... then over time I forget about it.. and WHAM... rp plays it!
I like this genre, psycho-folk / anti-folk.
Like it or hate it, this pesky little ditty gets under your skin and into your veins (like a virus?). Hours from now, you'll find it running laps in your brain.
I like Tori Amos, this is nothing like her this is just irritating I wish it wasn't on the radio uh-oh
I dunno, I feel like Tori's the one who's out of date now.
wow, more negative comments than I'd expect...some earlier Regina was a little weird, even for me...but I felt this album was great, especially this playful song
Monty Python once did a sketch about a joke that was so funny that when it was said the listeners would die of laughter. This song is similar. It's soooooo bad, that I'm sure listeners of RP around the world died, but not of laughter.
This is how it works: you hit the mute button, then you don't have to listen to this crappy song on the radio-ah-oh.
For the love of God please make it stop!

radio radio bo bradio fanana fana fo fadio mee mi mo madi-o, RADIO! where's my recording contract? Lol. This girl can definitely play classical piano. I am just not sure this is the "ESL-play" stuff to make a career out of. And I've seen just a little too much buzz via VH1 and CBS news. It reminds me of the fury storm over Norah Jones a few years ago. It's not that the person in question isn't talented, but every other network doing a story over the same person, when so many talented people down at the local bar go unnoticed? WTF?! Thank god for independent labels and the Web. It would be nice if the media didnt seem to read the exact same "how to" guide and "daily news brief" every day. I dont think if you sent five guys and gals into the street of any city in the USA for an afternoon and then told them to report what they saw or what was happening (without watching a TV or hearing the radio) they would all come back with the exact same few stories.

Better than Tori, because Regina's lyrics sometimes actually make sense. Her live concert on NPR is fantastic--check it out: https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6161219
This is what I like about RP - to me, "Sicko-Barfo" is a much higher rating than I would like to give. Yet other people believe its wonderful - Vive la differance!
What's a bradio? Is that music for Brady's?

Maybe, but a closer antecendent I think is Joni Mitchell. Here and there Spektor's lyricism is pretty heartfelt, but doesn't have quite the dripping earnestness of Amos. She, like Mitchell, can be quite a goofball, in a lovely way.
hey! this woman has a swag of talent, no mistake! thanx rp for includin' her here!

Well, feh. I really dig her stuff. Still, when last week ABC used her song "Fidelity" on two (count-'em) of their nite-time soaps--Grey's Anatomy and Brothers & Sisters--I can't say I was all too pleased. (Yeah, I'm a sucker for corny TV...but do they have to drag "my" classy, meaningful music into their escapist little worlds?)

That is a better shot, much more fun. I have seen this girl promoted on VH1 and then CBS this morning. Its nice to hear about new people in music but sometimes I think the media jumps on people and overexposes them before their music's been really heard. And how can you objectively enjoy music if its been pushed in your face a few times? Some publicists apparently overdo it, that's all I am saying. Her music is perky and lighthearted, from what I have heard. Its nice. But it might appeal to me more on its own were it not for the media crap first.
