Can you feel that love it is blinding,
He can't see anyone but her.
She flew away long ago with the band and a model,
Still he thinks he can win back her love.
Too high, you are too blind.
You don't have to hold my hand,

I understand he said then added this thought.
Her life is stormy and fame's left her lonely,
Without me it's all shallow and dark.
Too high,

You are too blind.
Keep that soul alive,

Where there's truth you'll hide.
Too high,
You are too blind.

You are...
You are too blind.

I like the innocent, breathless and dreamy delivery of the singer then the backing kicks in with what could be a heavy backing of guitars but they tone it down or mix it down so that the overwhelming feeling is light.  You could flip it the other way around, tone down the dreamy singer and boost the guitars.  I would like to hear a heavy version of this - maybe the Foo Fighters would do a cover? Unlikely!

This is ethereal feminine vocals at its best!

the  delivery/vocals are exactly what turns me off. not a fan of that kind of baby voice singing. but, i may agree with you - i might like a heavier version of this. who knows?
What a weird day. Porcupine Tree down, Violets up.

I love the sound of the High Violets found them here on RP. Can't get enough of there sound!
RP your the best on the net, I have followed you from all the cities in Europe I have lived even from Russia years ago.
Super song and band. Many thanks RP.
I discover this band on RP. Many thanks RP from Transsylvania, Romania. Be blessed.

Go to YouTube and put in Lush and Spooky and listen to a few of those tracks.  Heavily, heavily layered guitar sound and a bit of a space rock sound.  Undertow by Lush is a good one because you can hear the composition of the layering during the opening.

Admittedly it's not for everyone, but just throwing that out there.

And THIS is why I *love* RP so much! I have never heard of these guys. And I'll be going down The High Violets rabbit hole later today!!
Great!!
I've always marveled at the bright, sinuous blend of the wild Johnny Marr-style guitars and Kaitlyn's lovely restrained voice, and the way that killer bass weaves along behind it all really puts it over the top for me; gives me chills, every damn time... I never tire of this!

Man, I remember this from the early days of Radio Paradise (at least for me)... February 2009.  Brings back memories.

Just let it out...
Thank's for showing up this great band. Wow what an amazing sound - I'm dancing
still great
Gahhhhhhh, I love this song so much.
the lyrics have spoken to me...been there !  I was blind once, but now I see.  Some lessons learned are so tough !....like the drums at the end...you need to get 'crushed' before you see the light...and move forward
There is a lot of things to love about this track but the bass starting the final refrain gets me every time.

Really like the chord choices combined with the vocal notes in the chorus.

Hi, nice slideshow for this song, who makes the slideshows?

Until someone knowledgeable chimes in, I can give you my best guess. Pictures are uploaded chock full of "key words". Songs are uploaded with "key words". Slideshow is a random intersection of those key words. So, my guess, is you got a random selection of RP slides with key words "love" or "blinding" (or both).
Hi, nice slideshow for this song, who makes the slideshows?
Love how this burns.......
OK. We just had Morcheeba's "Enjoy the Ride," which is a 10 for me, followed by R.E.M.'s "So. Central Rain," one of my first RP Favorites, and now this—another early 10 and on my "Chill Set" playlist. All that plus today I got a friend recommendation: "Do you know Bill Goldsmith?" (I wish) today on Facebook. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.

Applause! The joke explained.
And then Love Is Blindness.

Thoughtful follow-up to I am a Rock.

No, just similar enough.
Lovin' it in a set with The Breeders' Cannonball and JA's Somebody to Love...similar stellar intensity of jam in bass, guitar and vocals...
i took it up to 7

That sums it up for me. "Bitchin'" also does it.

Oh I thought it was Lush.  Very nice.
 Really like every song on this album...thanks for introducing this group to me RP!
I likes it.

Yes, this is the worst distraction. Need to be more blind.
My work is being interrupted every time this track is on; hmm maybe I should check them out?!

I also wondered if it was Lush. Wow...

This is just too cool.{#Cool}
Perfect transition, Bill, from REM S. Central Rain to this {#Sunny}
The opening reminds me of some of Mike Oldfield's stuff. Might just be the vocals though.
Great guitar work!

This track would have totally launched me back in the day.
10>10.1

Reminds me of Lush.

9>10
8->9 👍
This goes nicely with Vast!
Nice, this is a good one to end the day with
Love this song.
{#Wave}..... enjoying this tune 8
great album from the 90s
Love it - a very pleasing wall of sound, esp towards the end
Love that drumming...
to be followed by  Madison Violet?
I love Violet  (the color)
I greatly dig the lush, atmospheric, dreamy sounds....especially from that-there guitar!!! {#Angel}
Frying my brain, had to turn it down. Screech!
This is just one of those amazing ones that sends me...........

I finally got around to getting a High Violets CD, and this was it.  I liked it.  I'll have to get another...I am not sure why they are not better known.  They probably did not catch some wave and ride it - due to timing, most likely.  Or, maybe it's just that the lead singer doesn't strip down like Beyonce or Gaga.
Has anybody heard "Cinéma" from this band{#Question} (2010)
Still one of the coolest buzz-extenders out there!  Those breathy whispers that come in just before the jamming bass and wicked guitar are soooo cool...
Gorgeous...
Musicially it reminds me very much of Lush.  I like it.
One of my original RP favorites and it still hits a sweet spot for me.

Fat Freddy of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers said "dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope".  Circa 1970.

In complete agreement, this is a great song to raise the volume, relax and enjoy.
This song is great!!
Am liking!!!!!{#Dancingbanana_2}
Very nice, it's got flow.
Why don't all the women in my life sound like this?
Sounds so good coming within resonance of the Airplane's Somebody to Love!
shame you can't top up on that...
still a 10
jumped from 8 to 9 :)
so is a broken heart
according the song this morning

It's only a bandaid, but if it stops the bleeding until true help can be found, it's better than nothing.

You sound like a very caring person. As a former Chicagoan living in Texas I don't know whether to stick my finger down my throat or write a check.

I don't hear a sound like that - maybe someone was using a leaf blower across the street - from you.
Now this REALLY sounds like Lush or Heart Throbs, very good, underrated 'girl' bands of the late 80's/early 90's.  I like it though...
As earlier, yah, follow this with Silver Sun Pickups, Steve Wilson (Harmony Korine), Porcupine Tree, & Lush ;-) Indeed

typical garage rock ambient noises....

Never heard of this bit I like..
I actually checked to find if Lush members are playing in this, but I guess they'll be bringing their kids to school by now :)

I agree. I wish I'd invested in a lot more music when I had the expendable income to do so, but at the time, my priorities were more "sensible."   Given recent events (personal ones as well as the major things happening in the world), I think I need to gobble up all the good music I can get and commit it to memory.  There are few things that should matter more than music. (And I suspect that that comment will kick a couple of ant-hills...) {#Whistle}

nice

I second that emotion.  I really dig the female singer's voice, put some of Steve Wilson's vast sound textures behind it and you'd have some cool stuff.
