" .... hold on to your kite"??? a little naive, isn't it?
It's: "I'm not fond of asking". And I love the Kooks.
Sorry, but Naut on the Wroster sounds annoying to me.
Sorry...can't get past the unique (poor) vocals.
I don't really like this but it was strangely refreshing after that ancient song by The Who.
Time to listen to Primus on youtube. John the Fisherman ought to do it for me.
God you're right!!! AAAAARRRRGGGG!!!! ziggytrix wrote:

Sub-Arctic Monkeys? Not on the Roster? I guess he\'s been cut from the team.

This song has been in my head since I woke up this morning... thank you Bill!
kinda catchy
Please remove marbles from mouth prior to singing.
I know that she knows that I'm not fond of asking True or false it may be She's still out to get me

... their lead singer Luke Pritchard is notorious for singing intelligible lyrics. Hahahahaha.
This is a great song!

Thought it was the Arctic Monkeys at first. Then they got to the chorus and it sucked super hard, so I knew it wasn't the Arctic Monkeys. Meh.
Meh.

Nope. Me too, or at least this song.
For those of you having a hard time understanding this young man, please allow me to translate for you: "I know she knows I'm noff on darastag" which I think speaks for itself...

Did they borrow their name from David Bowie's Kook's song from Hunky Dory?
These guys get better every time I hear them. I like their unusual accents.

good stuff
Catchy...
The Kooks are Kute
I've figured it out: I want to make out with the singer.

Really doesn't matter. Even though I like it when artists are able to be T.S. Eliot with a great hook, this'll suffice for now.
Arctic Monkeys meet Hanson! Heck, I'm all for pop - a cautiously optimistic 6.
Adolescent, but decent. One day I'd like to see The Kinks prelude The Kooks on the playlist. Heh.

I apparently liked this better the first time I heard it. 6? I think not. 4.

Thought it was the Arctic Monkeys!... EDIT (after backscrolling): PLOAFmaster: GMTA!

This is the sort of stuff that is played a lot currently on British radio - The Kooks, The Fratellis, Razorlight, The Feeling... all pretty much the same. It's getting old pretty quick.

Downloaded this last week (from what I heard here) and the album is pretty good. Lot of good gems but some of the songs feel like filler. This song reminds me of Third Eye Blind and the power they put into their songs. Solid 8
Nice "teens" work ! :o)
Is he saying "oy no" in one line of the chorus and "I Know" in the other line?

I was just thinking the very same thing. Maybe it's viral
Glad somebody upped this. Sure like the album but never thought this would get any love on RP. It's great. Currently on my iPod, actually.

Nice and simple song. I can't help but like the lyrics though, especially the ending, "just don't let me down... hold on to your kite" :)

...it pops!...i like it...
This preceded by Josh Rouse is a nice combo.
The more I listen, the more I like it. Interesting.
Arctic Monkeys - the sequel?
a bit too jjj for me I'm afraid
The song is OK, but they have a GREAT name

With two teenage kids who play the Kooks all the time I sat up when this track came on. They raved about them from the Reading Festial last year. I like much of what I've heard - will they progress and last? Remains to be seen I suppose
fun
THE KOOKS? Hey! I think I used to surf with these guys!
Not bad.

Love Kooks! Great surprise to hear them here. Gimme more Kooks, K? "Ooh La" is a great tune, too.
Yay, first comment! Interesting little ditty. Been hearing it now and then on the radio. It has grown on me a bit.
