Ben Folds — Such Great Heights
I am thinking it's a sign
That the freckles in our eyes
Are mirror images
And when we kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate
That God Himself did make
Us into corresponding shapes
Like puzzle pieces from the clay
And true, it may seem like a stretch
But it's thoughts like this that catch
My troubled head when you're away
When I am missing you to death
When you are out there on the road
For several weeks of shows
And when you scan the radio
I hope this song will guide you home.
They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now" they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now" but we'll stay
I tried my best to leave
This all on your machine
But the persistent beat
It sounded thin upon listening.
And that frankly will not fly
You'll hear the shrillest highs
And lowest lows with the windows down
While this is guiding you home.
They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now" they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now" but we'll stay
They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now" they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now" but we'll stay
They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now" they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now" but we'll stay

Video of this performance.
I like Bill's habit of playing various covers, and I like Ben Folds, but poor Ben's performance sounds very labored in this recording. It's empathically exhausting on the ears!

Intriguing and kinda fun...

Actually, this is making me laugh, so a nice solid 7 for Ben.
It's kind of making me laugh, too. But I'm not gonna give it a 7.
God. Now this shit really sucks.
This is so so good! thanx for that chillpill I needed that like bad!
I must say: a major disappointment coming after a long, long stretch of sublime and shiny gems... and if it goes on much longer
Actually, this is making me laugh, so a nice solid 7 for Ben.
not real sure about this one..............
Is this the Aussie radio show that gets people to cover songs that are way out of their element? In that context, this is interesting... Is this worthy of RP general rotation? I think not. JMHO

Ummm... Postal Service did. Specifically - lyrics by Ben Gibbard.
But this version... I'm going to have to go with a previous reviewer and give it a solid...

I am a HUGE Ben Folds fan, but I don't like this cover.
If anyone has a Ben Folds cover of Say Yes then please upload it. Thanks.

Great song. BAD cover.
Boring song not improved as a frantically bad cover.

Is this really what the world needs now, another cover?
What the world needs now is to hear what the world needs now by Cracker.
This is a terrible idea by Folds. This song is amazing when postal do it and iron had a unique take. This is just a crap version of Postal's original, riding on their coat tails. Booooo
This was recorded on the spur of the moment at an in-studio show in Australia - Apparently he recruited a few local drummers.
The video shows him reading from a lyrics sheet
Great song. BAD cover.
I don't like Ben Folds much, but I enjoyed the cover!
Nope. It don't work!
Not sure we really needed another version of this song. Certainly not this version... ugh.
This just makes me laugh
This is much too frenetic and labored to be even remotely enjoyable.
Terrible.
Must. type. faster.

# Ben Folds covered "Such Great Heights" on Australian radio station Triple J using a piano, forks, tin foil, and glass.
neat! Ben Folds sounds quite a bit like Ben Gibbard, doesn't he?

1) This is fun.
2) I'm going to get *really* sick of it, and soon
3) This sounds like a live version. For Ben's sake, I hope so.
The words to this song remind me of something used for an M & M's commercial in the last year. Is it a cover, or was it covered?
Damn, ok. I see. Iron and Wine was probably the ad version.

Woah! I had no idea Ben Folds did a cover of this.
He shouldn't have. Iron and Wine's cover had a point and was done gracefully. This is just a mess.
Is this really what the world needs now, another cover?
so, who wrote the original?
Ugh!
What is with the covering of this song.
Sounds like more pounding of the piano than anything just to keep up.
I mean, I love Ben Folds. . . but I love my Postal Service more.
Not sure yet if this is or , but it's DEFINITELY

No more, please! He doesn't even sound that good, and what garage Casio synthesizer is he using? Man I loved the DEMO button on those things.

Sweet.....I think. Original is better.
