Every day's made of stone
Tonight my wordless dreams slip into song
City lights I can see
Beckon to me
I'm not wastin' more time
No–o–o
From far away they promise me fame
Follow them right on through

Oh I'm on the run
Tonight and every day
I want everything
'Cause I want everything

Oh I'm on the run
I'm not afraid to say
I want everything
'Cause I want everything

Wave your hand on the quay
I ain't comin' back this way
'Cause those lights are gonna shine on me
And I will learn to say
Goodbye a thousand different ways
Gotta start out somewhere
Movin' on, movin' on now

Oh I'm on the run
By night and every day
I want everything
'Cause I want everything

Oh I'm on the run
I'm not afraid to say
I want everything
'Cause I want everything

If you wanna
Wanna know everything
Gotta reach inside your soul

If you wanna
Wanna know everything
Gotta face what you are shown

If you wanna
Wanna know everything
Find the place where you belong

Out on the road
The price you have to pay
If you want everything
If you want everything

Pretentious audiophile comments?  Never!

Don't remember hearing this one before. Very nice.
Bought this album via a link here and loved it. Nice reminder to re-listen. Thanks :)
Just ordered the cd after hearing this and samples of the other tracks... nice find Bill.
I'm thinking I should buy the CD, or at least this song
Jérôme Cotta {#Hearteyes}
Wife and I both liked this song enough to create an account just to say so. Saw it only got one play in the last 30 days. Hope to hear it more often.

signed,
- the milquetoast yuppie

Wasn't there once a band called The Milquetoast Yuppies?  Anyhow, I thought it was the Y2K bug that killed off the last of the yuppies.

Nice afternoon dancing...just need a beach shack, some sand on concrete... cold beer..... keep the music flowing... I'll keep dancing around my brain-box...

Fascinating cover picture.  The Asian DJ, the self-centred girl in yellow hugging herself; the Dusky lady of Color looking saucily at the androgynous person with the hat ... I'm thinking that others may have differing opinions.  Why only two drinks?  Is the Yellow Girl an interloper?  A competing Lover?  A non-drinking menage a'trois partner?

Welcome to Putumayo album art. Nice interpretation.

good memories!
Cool - I thought this was Jehro.  Saw him open for Seu Jorge a few years ago and he played a really nice groovy set.  Then Seu rocked the stage Brasilla style.  Great show.

I like Milk and Toast.... but I am not spineless. I am going to rate it a 8 and let everyone know I did. I did find myself tapping my foot during the song and I don't think anyone is trying to compare that song to anything Bob did!!!! Bill keep on playing it!

As far as regaeeish music goes this isn't atroshish, I'll give it a 3
Not as good as some of the other cuts on the CD, but pretty good. Really love some of the other cuts and recommend the CD. A 6 for me - pretty good.

Wow! I really feel like an idiot for liking this song after reading your post. Or maybe I think you're an idiot. I'm so conflicted.

Huh?You must be confused. Flanders was the Simpsons. Jehro was the Beverly Hillbillies. Obviously confused indeed.
nice follow to Tracy Chapman
This reminds me of that "Door of No Return" song. Which is good, because I like it!

Yes, everything I have or have heard: ditto. They do on CD what RP does on radio - great selections and innovative choices.
Harmonies are sweet....
MORE PLEASE! loving Jehro
This reminds me a bit of the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. I think it's the vocals.
very nice!

This is a cool sound! Kind of Caribbean, kind of R&B, kind of folk. Cool!
