I didn't get no sleep at all last night
My shoulders were as heavy as lead
I felt something was just not right
I had to roll a little spliff for my head
So I took a walk inside
Talked to I, I self
Trying to ease these pains of mine
Oh Jah give I strength

And if a egg, natty inna di red
And if a egg, natty inna di red
Rasta inna it, natty inna di red
And if a egg, natty inna di red

Yeah, yah yah
Yah, yah

Eh, Now I'm in a irie place
Now I'm in a irie space
Now I man can I ditate
Free ourselves from all that hate
Now I'm in an irie state
Now I man can I ditate
Free ourselves from all that hate
Bless them with Jah love and grace

And if a egg, natty inna di red
And if a egg, natty inna di red
Rasta inna it, (egg), natty inna di red
And if a egg, natty inna di red

Yeah, yeah

Eh, I didn't get no sleep at all first night, no
My shoulders we as heavy as lead
I felt Something was just not right
Had to Roll a little zig for my head
Yeah
So I took a walk inside
Talk to I, I self
Free I from this frame of mind
Oh Jah give I strength

And if a egg, natty inna di red
And if a egg, natty inna di red
Cmon man and if a (egg), natty inna di red
And if a egg, natty inna di red

Yeah, yah yah
Oh, yah, yah,yah, yah

None shall escape Jah judgment
Jah judgments gonna call on you
Red eye, red eye, red eye
Red eye, you're gonna turn to blue
None shall escape Jah judgment
Jah judgments gonna fall on you
Red eye, red eye, red eye
Red eye, you're gonna turn to blue

Yeah, yah, yah
Yah, uah
Yah, yah

[Outro: Kids]
So when we call him Rastafari
What shall we contend with
Watch how weak heart tremble
Heathen nah like Jah name

If I ain't nutty in a di head...
I don't know what he's talking about, but I like the song anyway. Hey, I've liked Steely Dan for decades, and I rarely knew what the hell they were talking about either.

It means "My submarine is full of eels",

Same here. But this is a great vibe sung with much feeling. An easy 8.

It literally (sort of) translates into "If I'm in the yolk of the egg", which, figuratively speaking, means  being tangled up in the middle of things. Basically, he's saying there's a lot of difficult things weighing on his mind.

first time I have heard Bob’s son. Love it!
Great voice!

That may be enough.
Discovering this singer. Very nice, especially this song. Thanx for sharing. Clearly like father like son, the good way ;o).
And If I A, Nazi EA E
Any bets on another artist on the way? Bob and Rita's Great Grand Kids. What a musical family.
Another artist I "discovered" and purchased music from thanks to RP.

Paulo Nutini on holiday.  Mellow sound, though.  I prefer this to anything his old man put out.
Gosh - he sounds more like his dad than any of the other siblings (Ziggy, Damian). I first thought it was a lost Bob Marley tune.
Chilled out, like Tosh. Melikey.
no Idea what he is singing but it's not as "reggae-ish" as usual, there is something more latino to it ( slightly ), it's tolerable. Can't find it in the rating scale, so I'll go with 2.

Thank you for still playing this song Bill. I still love it. Happy new year to you and yours.

As a fan of this music, this tune is very bad!

"Inna Di Red" is, perhaps, one of the most iconic songs of all time of RP, since Apr 25, 2007, and I wish to remain......

I go to Jamaica pretty often. Even know how to spell it. Love my smoke, have read Haile Selassie, have good Jamaican friends. Nothing for me to like, get or understand here. Just PR for yet another religion populated by people who think they've got it figured and you're an infidel if you don't agree.

melloooowwww.

This reminds me of a junkie I used to know who rolled his car with a friend in it. He managed to get out of the car and just had enough strength to roll a little number before passing out without getting his friend out of course...... {#Whipit}

Hallelujah and tot ziens!

The vocals get to be annoying. This wouldn't be a bad song as an instrumental.

Blessed tune.  I can listen for long time and don't even have outside influences to enhance the meditation.  It resonates at a deep level and I appreciate it a great deal.  Don't understand the negative comments at all.
Its kind of floating around in my living room,,nice tune ! {#Wink}
I'm sorry Stephen for the really stiff comments here and there {#Razz} and the far too low rating!

Most of the greatest music in human history is created 'under the influence' and this is a good example!

Love it!...{#Snooty}

I'v read on other threads here that someone thinks a tune is over played and usually I do not agree but this one could never be played again and I would be happy.

Normally I really like Rasta and Reggie music but, like someone else said this sounds like some totally stoned dude recording crap to me.

Maybe if I were stoned I would ‘get it'

I think, it not only sounds like that.....

Really like what I've heard from Stephen Marley on here.

BTW...I would have sworn this was "Burn One Down" by Ben Harper...the beginning of each song is identical to each other. I wonder if the bongos are Ben's doing, along with the guitar work (of course).

It's actually my favorite (and the only likeable) part.  Reminds me of old Stevie Wonder songs.  Otherwise, I find it grating.

pretty uninspired stuff...

In my case, I listen to whole song just to hear them (the kids) singing.

This was the highlight of the show I saw; the kids (band's children) actually came out on stage and sang, and were visible off-stage for the whole show. It was like a big family get-together celebration, and a great time was had by all! {#Cowboy} (Bill—we need a rastafarian emoticon!)
