I'm walking all by myself
I was talking to myself
About you
What am I gonna do
I was singing this song about you
I was thinking about singin this song for you
The more I think about it
The more I know it's true
The more I think about it
The more I know it's you
Honey I think you're just right
I was walking, like I said, by myself
I was talking to myself
About you
The more I think about it
The more I know it's true

I realize this comment is four years old, but I saw Wilco at Forecastle Festival in 2012 and they rocked. My husband and I had tickets to the Highwater Festival in Charleston, SC, this coming April 18-19, where Wilco was headlining, but it was canceled due to the coronavirus. All this to say, I'm okay with a more mellow Wilco. I'm listening to the album this song is from, and it's just great.
Has anybody seen these guys recently in concert?
They use to be sooooo good...a real RnR band.
But it seems they may be now mellowing out way too much.

Nice up beat song.
Reading Tweedy's new book. If you're a fan, even if you're not, it's a great read.
Check out Christopher Walken's role in the move, Annie Hall. He plays Annie's brother and he's a psycho. He's a hoot.
Weird band bein weird

It amazes me when I read about Wilco being "overrated." I think it's the opposite, if anything. People who like them REALLY like them — Tweedy is absolutely brilliant, and if you "get it" it is some of the best music ever made. If you don't, then it's not. It's not for everyone — no good art is. But just because people feel so strongly about Wilco doesn't mean that they are overrated - it just means that they have a rabid following.
Like The Dead, or Ween, or Phish, Coltrane, etc. etc. If you hear the brilliance, you want to shout it from the rooftop!

I've rated this an 8 at some point, and I'm sure I would have rated it a 9 if it was about Christopher Walken. Wilco continues to impress me with the offerings I hear on RP; keep playing their tunes, BillG! Long Live RP!!
It's surely mentioned in here somewhere below but I too first mistook this to be a Little Feat track I had not heard before.

Somewhat overrated band...this is a great tune, though.
More interesting than most Wilco.
Reminds me of 10cc in lots of ways, especially the guitar style.
I always thought that this track was just a filler on an otherwise enjoyable album

A recent article in nytimes.com related how the lead singer of Wilco suffers from depression. An old girlfriend invited me to see them in concert. I left depressed. The Tweedy guy was smug and conceited. His advice to homeless people, 'Get a job.' Half of the concert was the lead guitarist bent over in the same position playing looooong stretches of screechy sounds.
More I think about it, the more I know it's good! Wilco's live album, Kicking Television is a really good reason to kick television for good!
Reminds me of a young Maria Muldar and Jim Kweskin's Jug Band.
good, now when can we get walkin' by NRBQ ?
MUST
GET
THIS
CD
Santa? are y'all reading my RP post?

Kind of sick of this song after hearing it on every VW commercial all year long.

A little like Lennon in a cowboy mood? I love the passing reference to Joe Walsh in that guitar work, too.

I see you've posted this same laziness for more than one Wilco song. Perhaps you can muster the energy to expand on why you believe Wilco tracks should not be played as often as they currently are?
Eazy, he most possibly doesn't quite like them...that much.
I am a bit of a newbie to RP and have never heard of Wilco before but quite like it - I would like to hear a bit more as it sounds a bit retro.
Which is not a bad thing.

At least you're not as prolific as that dimwit who posted an identical rant against every Talking Heads song in the library.

so far, this is the best song i've heard off the new album. the others have been kind of expressionless.
This is a phenomenal album overall. Great track.
It starts off great, an 8 from me.
We'll see what happens as the song continues.
Too much Wilco.

I don't know about that....I just had to turn this one down for the last 2 minutes of the song. I usually like Wilco, but that ending was like being under the dentist's drill.

least favorite wilco track i've heard. maybe it grows on you or something. :(

i feel lucky to be hearing this upon its' first play. good song, great band.
Yes!!! Great song. This is the track that started the process of the album growing on me.
come on, RP!
this song deserves some air time :-)
One of the more upbeat tunes from Sky Blue Sky. Guitar part in concluding bars sounds like the riff from the opening of Television's "See No Evil."
Love the Harrisonisan & Claptonian guitars
With a little Derek Trucks thrown in.
