Come tell me your story to unload your glorious grief
Where you are the valet of honour and i am the thief
And don't ever mention the stains that you left on my track
How from a beautiful girl I became someone ruined and wrecked
It was all in your back
All in your back

So I spin in the dance of your absence and put on a show
But why do I smile baby, you of all people should know
The one that you loved
Died a long time ago

You can't do me wrong with charity until
You'll exhaust your lies and remedies, you will
But with your voice and melodies you kill, you kill
Your version of glory is dark and it's covered with sin
And I wanna dive in an ocean of pink tourmaline
I've seen the pure souls they exist and they fly
I think I could live with it, I know I can now

You can't do me wrong with charity until
You'll exhaust your lies and remedies, you will
But with your voices and melodies you kill, you kill

It's funny how now that I'm not in the palm of your hand
You're still running blindly to save me again and again
But i don't need a friend
No, I don't need a friend

You can't do me wrong with charity until
You'll exhaust your lies and remedies, you will
But with your voice and melodies you kill, you kill

Think big, big, big at the beginning and when it comes to the end, full stop.

Male menopause
I could hear 'Fat Old Sun' too, but  I thought that it was a bit closer to 'Nothings Going to Change My World' (Across the Universe) by the Beatles.

It's a rare rainy and overcast day here in Albuquerque.  This song is appropriate for the day.
horrible. and horribly boring/dull.
not the strongest track on this outstanding cd
Did any one else hear that?  This is spooky.

I could not find a comment that relates to what I feel on this one.  Thinking about how this could speed up with more emotional power might step it up for me, but the pace ain't makin' it.  Non-rating thus far as I'll seek to see how it plays out long term

I heard that.  This is Bill's PMS — plodding morning set.  As with other forms of PMS, it's best to avoid it if you can.

It kills!

I am not sure if its a 70's song, but this does sound really familiar for some reason...until I checked I was thinking it was a cover...but a great song nonetheless..

Has a sort of Carly SImon, That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be vibe to it.

Agreed. I don't like what the lyrics are saying. 1=sucko barfo.
WOW!
Mazzy Star?  yeah I can see that - she reminded me more of Astrud Gilberto

What?  No one's compared her to Mazzy Star?  How curious.  Good sound, this one; it's like easing into a sound sleep.  I mean that in the best way possible.

I was just thinking that it sounds like Hope Sandoval (solo).
This is very nice.  Smooth like silk.

what an outstanding voice she has! She has 3 or 4 other CD's , the first couple are mostly in French and I haven't heard them, but the 2  preceeding this one, NOT GOING ANYWHERE and NOLITA are just outstanding.

She's really not at all like Coldplay. She is good though.
Hey, look at it this way, somebody compared her to Coldplay instead of comparing Coldplay to someone else...a monumental first.

I dunno; I'm kinna keren for it . . .
ZZZZZZZ I'm not keren for this one at all.
mmm, nice
Nice song.

Keren Ann is WAY too mellow for my taste, yet some of her stuff I am just addicted to. Her non-English albums are worth checking out as well.

Am I the only one, or does this sound reminiscent of a couple 70's songs? I can't quite put my finger on them.
Yes! The song is "I Love You" by the Climax Blues Band. Check it out. ETA: There's a touch of Fountains of Wayne's "Supercollider" in the verse also.
Check out her duo with KT Tunstall on TV show Taratata (youtube it). They sing My Sharona. Excellent.

This seems kind of Leonard Cohenish in its key, its pacing, and its emotion. Nice. 7
Well put. Antje Duvekot said once at a show that she's been working out to Leonard Cohen and wondering why she doesn't lose any weight. = )

I'm wide awake. The girl's good. Dark, cool and wistful. I love it.
Somebody get me a cup of coffee. I'm falling asleep.
I'll buy that.
Keren Ann always goes down easy. I particularly like the song "Liberty" from this album.

Seconded. I've learned of so many great artists here: Hem, Vienna Teng, Dan Wilson...
Nice song. It sounds just like Fountains of Wayne - Supercollider, but I like that song better.

Delectable plate reverb soaked vocals. Mmmmmmm.
Interesting songwriting, I think the obvious unfamiliarity with the language makes for some cute and artistic use of the words. For example " its all in my back " Likely "its all in my past" ?

Nice.
