Kothbiro (rain is coming)
Auma do you hear what I say
The rain is on it's way
Return our cattle home
Yaye the children
What is it that you think you do?
The rain is on it's way
Return our cattle home.

This isn't a forum for describing yourself
It was also on Narada World: A Global Vision, a double CD release
that I purchased in 1997.

FYI . Ayub Ogada Ogada is of the Luo tribe of northwest Kenya. In this song a cattle herder, seeing a storm coming, quietly tells his children to bring in the cows.
Albeit a bit belated it’s really nice to know! Thanks for sharing the information.
Instant eight, after few dozen seconds.
What always crosses my mind when hearing music like this, whether I like it or not, is is there going to be someone to preserve it?
RP is helping to preserve it. That is why we come here. Thanx RP!

Melodic and memorable, this gives me chills.
I Agree!

this song is included on trance planet vol.2. lots of good international music similar if you don't just go straight to ogada. if you're interested in more african music a good place to start is fela kuti.
this is a laid back song, but very cool stuff awaits you if you go off the beaten track.

Every song in the RP library has some "1" votes.
No accounting for taste, eh! I love the international music that RP plays

I concur.
This artist has nothing to do with Mali. Ayub Ogada is Luo, from Kenya. Other side of the continent. Gorgeous tune.
I agree...
that movie came out in 2005— three years before you posted this... seems like a long time ago, now... time flies when we're having fun... sigh...
love this music...
no kidding ~!
Kothbiro is a masterpiece.

PS
I am surprised this is from Kenya
not Mali!
It has typical Luo influences, unlike Yabo music from the Hasa Melo
