He wrote you letters,
And I couldn't care,
'Cause I know you didn't,
You know you didn't,
Still he ran those fingers through your hair,
and he kissed you,
When you let him.
Brazilian sea amazes me.

You wrote me letters
I didn't read.
I know I didn't,
You know I didn't,
Still I caressed you
sang you to sleep.
sometimes I told you you were beautiful.
Brazilian sea amazes me.

The day I left you,
Got on the bus.
I knew I'd see you,
You knew I'd see you,
Still you cried, and now I know why.
ain't it too bad?
I loved you so much
Brazilian sea amazes me

I really can take strange sounds and voices and often even like them just because,
but this ... this ... this is ... I just can't put it into words ...

how about, "FABULOUS!"

Gogol Bordello are awesome and there is another really good band but their name escapes me as they're not included on the Wiki list

Try Romani hip-hop from the Czech Republic.
You know the music is going to be interesting when a theremin is involved!
Nice.  Poignant lyrics.  I vote 9.

that sounds like a perfect place to hear this band - were there hay bales to enhance acoustics? am not being sarcastic, simply can picture it. these are fun lyrics that fit the tune and i will have to check out more of their music.

I really like these guys. Saw them play in an old movie theater near my home and they were excellent.
I always hear a little of Henry Mancini here.

Spectacular.
Could be a long-lost Chris Isaak song.

Add a little Slim Whitman in the background and you'd really have something.

agreed, this is nice stuff.

Or go away, learn how to appreciate beauty and then come back.  I'm at a 7 on this, almost an 8, LLRP!!

Yes, cool production and arrangement on this.
David Lynch soundtrack material here...

ooooh I like this song and gave it a 10!

mmmmm, I wonder if that annoys those who hate this song.

It only annoys me because of your username.
I keep hearing We all float  by Hooverphonic in the background melody
Let the record show that the Baron has identified Rex Rexroth as the silly man!
Wow does this ever suck.

Totally.
Following this song (new to me) on Wilburys' 'End of the Line' was modal perfection. And DeVotchKa is definitely now on my 'investigate' playlist.
Huh? A Morrisey impersonator?

Wah wah wah wah I am gonna cwy now because you dont like my song.  WAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
I like —— now where did I hear this song before? OH ya, "I love you Philip Morris" — LOL!! I knew I recognized it before. Good movie too.
These guys are REALLY good in concert!

I like it. strange groove and hook line.
Morrisey could sell this...I"m just sayin...

Come on people, this is not that bad. Nothing great, but different. That's what keeps me coming back to RP.
This is pretty "out there," as far as I'm concerned. But that's the beauty and the charm of RP, isn't it? Something entirely different will start soon ...
Boy named Sue? Cash would be proud. 9 thumbs up
Walk on the wild side?
Awww. Poor thing.

I should start keeping statistics on this.  It really seems like every time I hear a song on RP and think, "oh this is nice, I wonder who it is", leading me to check out the "Now Playing" link, I'm greeted by some desultory comment.  But maybe it's just confirmation bias that gives the impression

I'm guessing you're talking about Excelsior, in which case "desultory" isn't the word I'd use.

Same here - evidently my taste in music incites other people to vomit.  Guess I should be careful who I allow to ride in my car.

Adorable! I love it!

{#Puke}Is RP on a quest lately to find the worst possible new bands, and promote them?  Because with songs like this, you have to wonder...

God, that NOISE sounds like a car engine trying to turn over in the middle of winter, and just can't make it.
For those wondering about this band, pick up their album, "Una Volta".  And check 'em out live if you get the chance.  Nice to see them hitting the bigtime in recent years.
Thank you for putting this in, Bill. {#Good-vibes}
*yawn*

love the wood saw {#Neutral}

this is a song for my ipod should I ever have the chance to astroplane around the universe.  it would be great to hear this and float in the stars.
hey they used to be a backing band for a burlesque show.  they cant be all bad

meh
Sounds like a combination of drunk violinists along with some people playing wood saws.
i like a good theremin :)
{#Eek}
I do really enjoy this band's music. Their use of unexpected instrumentation makes them fun to listen to.
Well, not that bad, always good to hear a new song!

actually like the beginning, not sure about the violin at the end...  repetetetetetetive...
I think the Martians are all dead, anyway.
A very special band, especially live.

This is equally as horrible as Cloud Cult earlier.
Parts of this remind me of a couple older tunes (the violins especially) but I can't quite put my ear on it yet.  Nicely flowing and kind of offbeat.

I'll give it a 6.
