Sometimes it's hard to say
Even one thing true
When all eyes have turned aside
They used to talk to you
And people on the streets seem to disapprove
So you keep moving away
And forget what you wanted to say
Little bird
Little bird
Brush your gray wings on my head
Say what you said
Say it again
They tell me I'm crazy
But you told me
I'm golden
Sometimes it's hard to tell the truth from the lies
Nobody knows what's in the hold of your minds
We are all building and people inside
Never know who walks through the door
Is it someone that you've met before
Little bird
Little Bird
Brush your gray wings on my head
Say what you said
Say it again
They tell me I'm crazy
But you told me
I'm golden
Little bird
I know what I know
A wind in the trees and a road
That goes winding 'onder
From hear I see rain I hear thunder
Somewhere there's sun
And you don't need a reason
Sometimes it's hard to find a way to keep on
Quiet weekends, holidays
You come undone
Open your window and look upon
All the kinds of alive you can be
Be still, be light, believe me
Little bird
Little Bird
Brush your gray wings on my head
Say what you said
Say it again
They tell me I'm crazy
But you told me
I'm golden

The Weepies after The Who is as eclectic as hot dogs after a New York Strip.

Solid.
Sounds good to me
Aptly named band.

Nice dirge
Really enjoying this. Thanks again, RP! I like this song more every time I hear it.
This tune brings the most lovely mood around.

I feel weepie
I like it but feel that their band name is so unfortunate, and I know that shouldn't matter!
This is so 'Beatles' complimentary and I love it! I would like to hear more...
i enjoy the weepies!

This song reminds me of "Little Sparrow" by Dolly Parton. Another beautiful song.
Every weepies song i hear i love. Why must you drain my wallet so young Bill?

I'm in love with this woman's voice—-love at first listen. Damn you, Radio Paradise, too much good stuff!

Don't put "Weepies" and "pleasant" in the same paragraph again. To be safe, don't even put them on the same page, in the same book, or even the same library. "Hard to find"? Deservedly so.

not bad, but the cover looks like the kind of thing that my son brings home from first grade.
Define 'band'.

WOW, Harsh or what? Why such hatred directed at this unassuming band. They may not be my favorite but I wouldn't cut them down like you did. I find nothing grating or dreck-like about the singers voice; I don't hear a faux lisp, I don't hear her trying to sound like a 13-year-old, and I don't hear her over-pronouncing her "r"s The vocal is understated and the song is gentle without being sappy. This song has a 7.2 rating which is pretty good for RP. And who cares about the name?

"Open your window and look upon all the kinds of alive you can be"
this is just annoying
Lisps, wisps, mispronunciations, vocal qualities . . . .
Imagine for a second the singer using an operatic style of singing for this piece. Doesn't work, does it? Why?
IMHO, her style of singing perfectly fits this simple little song, it's understated, soft poetry, and emotive qualities. But that's why I like it.
If you don't like a piece of music, it's perfectly fine to say it's a piece of crap. But there's no need to go on a critical rampage. Just say "No thank you." :D

What sounds like a lisp may be aliasing or encoding artifacts from a poor digital reproduction. I hear it in everything but mostly in fricatives, which comes off as a lisping sound. I'd like to hear this uploaded again from a closer-to-original source. I like the song and album art but the poor audio quality annoys, obviously.

She sounds like she is strangling the words as she sings

I mustn't have been listening closely enough, as I didn't hear a lisp (faux or otherwise), nor did I hear her overpronouncing her 'r's or an attempt to sound like a 13-year old. I think her singing style is simple and pretty. Not one of my favourite songs, certainly, but it's not that bad.
I quite like the band's name.

The singer sounds like a festering pile of dreck, to use the American slang term. The faux lisp and poor attempt to sound like a 13-year-old, innocent, musically inexperienced girl are very obvious—next time, don't overpronounce your 'r''s and don't lisp, and MAYBE you'll sound 50% believable.
And what about the incredibly stupid name —- The Weepies?!?! Who came up with the name? Miss Emo? Mr Wristcutter? WOW.

This song, and, indeed, most of the band's other songs, sound like someone has put too many pennies on the record player arm. Not only the fact that it simply doesn't sound very nice (it's slow, which I don't dislike per se, but it also "drags on"), but also the fact that it sounds just like every one of those absurd songs on those stupid "easy rock" office background FM stations, detract against it.

I rate this song a "4". Listenable, but really not worth the effort. At least I didn't turn *down* the volume. By the way, I listen to Cowboy Junkies, etc., who are also quite slow, bluesy players, but 100% better.
