Currently listening to this in November.  Longing for warm weather already. LOL
July, 1976. We were living in Alaska but took two weeks to visit family in California. I was a nerdy, gangly, bullied 12 year old and I desperately missed California. Those two weeks were a lifesaver and whenever I hear this song, it takes me back to that magical time.

Fast forward to Summer 2020. Uncertainty, worry, stress all around. But I clung to this song like an anthem and we got through it.
Heart rate just went down. Blood pressure dropped. TY William.

Gotta be the lowest rated tune on RP!?

7.1 is hardly low.

These were the days of great sounds
Ah summer. It's June and 105, heat index expected to be around 115. War can keep their summer.
instant flashback to summer of 1998 when I was a 21 year old pizza delivery guy with an awesome car stereo, not just bass but amazing high end, blasting this tune while cruising the streets.  The WAR greatest hits CD also featured a few other of my favorites, of course the super popular "Low Rider" and "Why can't We be Friends?" and the lesser known "Cinco de Mayo" and maybe my all-time favorite of WAR: "Life (is so strange)"

9 for this track, 10 for the memories, and off the charts for RP; LLRP!!
Such a chill song, way back then

It must have come up over the past 13 years...
Love the groove.
so many great jams from these guys. Me and Baby Brother, Cisco, World is a Ghetto,  Galaxy and on and on
Lee Oscar!
Wow, this is a nice one. My first thought was, "Huh, sounds like War.", and was delighted to find out I was right. The song nicely captures the warm cosy feel of summer, but also the great feeling of peace that happens over Christmas when family gets together.
Hahaha—it is the last moment if “Summer” for me…the little ones go back to school tomorrow, and the same for me.
"Eight track playin...." Wow, digging deep into history :)
It cruises ok, lacks guts, too wishy washy for my taste. Instrumentation is grand, not smooth like big brass bands with Herb Albert, or Tijuana Brass!!
Gotta be the lowest rated tune on RP!?
A real way-backer.....nice...
