don't want to borrow your car
don't want to meet your ma
don't want to hold your hand
or have you come see my band
just lay me down
don't want no sweet talking
don't want no moonlit walking
don't want to reminisce
about our first kiss
just lay me down, lay me down
about what's not going right
but while we're still being sweet
there's just one thing I need
don't want to know your past
'cause this ain't going to last
don't want to talk to your friends
while we're this close to the end
just lay me down, lay me down
don't want to borrow your car
don't want to meet your ma
don't want to hold your hand
don't want to meet your ma
don't want to hold your hand

Great Voice! I never heard of them before. That is why we come here. Thanx RP!

The Audreys are fun - this song's lyrics are funny. I own Lay It Down and love singing along with both vocalists; the range is comfortable.

Very tasteful Bill. Keep up the Stones’ theme for a good period of mourning please.
Bumping this to a 9 .... that opening voice... wow... Gets it going.
Now here's a lady who knows what she wants.
Thanks for the Australian flavour this morning!

Well you could buy it from your local record shop, if one still exists. CD quality beats MP3 hands down, plus you get the cover art and a physical copy which'll last for ages (files have a tendency to corruption), and you can play it in your car without having to burn a shedload of MP3s to CD.
It is out on mp3 now and I got two CDs by this group...I truly believe in the digital revolution...now everyone around the world can enjoy the greatest things in the world for very low cost and very little harm to the environment...and with the cloud they are stored for good

What kind of screwed up world do we live in when I cannot buy this album on MP3??

Another in a great string of songs. These runs are what makes RP fantastic.

As an Aussie livin in the UK I'm still thanking you bigtime for this band Bill. Bought both albums and absolutely love them. And for the person silly enough to ask what its about then yes it means shut up and f@ck and it would appear to be getting said to an ex.

Really like this, how is the rest of the album?
The rest of the album is very good. I must admit that after the first spin, I thought I was going to be disappointed because Between Last Night and Us was so good. The banjo seems to be a little more subtle on this one. After a few spins, I really liked the album. There is not a bad song on it. My personal favs are Chelsea Blues, When the Flood Comes, and Small Things.
I recommend this CD, but if you only can buy 1 Audreys album, get Between Last Night and Us.
This song is outstanding. Should go with Erin McKeown's "A Taste of You."

nuff said and said well too, hard to get the tune out of your head or the idea lol
So glad this album is finally on RP!
As someone who used to suffer agonised conversations before/after sex, going on 'til the early hours of the morning when all you really want is some decent kip, I can sympathise with the sentiments of this song. Less yak, more sex. Bugger the romance, the existential angst, the 'where are we going' agonising, just get down and dirty :). 7 from the Nottingham jury.
Taasha has a great voice and they put on a fantastic live show, if you get the chance see the Audreys live.
Great song!
I was wondering when this was going to hit RP. Thanks, Bill!
