Is that Ella singing?

Not Ella, though another great blues singer named Dell St. John.  I don't know much about her though I do love how some music was desegregated way back in the 30s.  LLRP!!
new name to me!
Is that Ella singing?
Sounds like it could have come from my mom's 78 collection - all just memories now...
Thanks Bill and Rebecca!
Hey...who's jumping whom at 3 am?

Is this a hoochie coochie song?
i want to pull out my grand uncles gramaphone and 78's now
And a full 2 hours ahead of this tune is "One O'Clock Jump" by Count Basie.
This is some good stuff! And it doesn't hurt that Joe looks like a movie star...

Funny, then we'd call this track "Three Year Old Jump"

I'm impressed with how good this 1939 recording sounds.....better than most in that era....fantastic stuff....and Joe made that clarinet sound great....Long Live RP!!
I thought that was his lifespan for a second.

A little Django Rheinhart like.

Like maybe the other way around?

That clarinet got my attention.
Never heard of this guy, but I like the swing.

A little Django Rheinhart like.
Puts me in mind of Ada Brown & Fats Waller
Thanks for adding some Dixieland jazz, BillG!  It's a 9 to me....Long Live RP!!
