absolutely fantastic... love those harmonies...
I agree. I remember when I was in High School and a friend and I performed a few impromptu songs during the lunch hour, on campus - we did several acoustic songs with NO rehearsal. "Suzanne" by Joni Mitchell (and Cohen, of course, but we didn't know it at the time), and a couple of other songs we'd goofed around with - the harmonies just came - when Peggy felt like singing the main vocal, I harmonized, and then we'd switch and I'd be on the main and she'd sing harmony - we were so in synch, it was like we were of one mind and voice.
I never questioned it then - I thought that was how singing always was. And then I tried to sing with someone else, and it just didn't work no matter what we did. This is why I don't sing lead for a band.
Peggy was murdered by her husband in 1976. I miss her voice - but maybe that's why the Indigo Girls resonate with me - those soulful vocals, sometimes shaky, sometimes quivery, but always linked in heart and spirit...

The Indigo Girls always produce strong albums.......
I just love this song and the album is always very raw and emotional. I'm a 34 year old man and I get in a tear in my eye sometimes when I hear this song, because it's so direct and revealing.
Thanks again Bill for bringing me to another GREAT band!

Is this a two disk album? I saw them at the BackYard in Austin more than a decade ago and it was just the two of them and their guitars. You can't get more stripped down than that and it was a great show.
I think you can get it as a 1 or 2 disc album, but based on what you've said, I think you'll want the 2 disc version so you can have the acoustic versions. It's all good really.

It's a great album, Marr. The Acoustic disc is really just for true fans, as it's pretty stripped down, but I've essentially been listening to the regular disc on repeat for the past two weeks at work. Great great stuff.

This song nearly made me cry thinking about loved ones who have committed suicide,
now long gone. Leave it to the Indigo Girls to shake my memories today.
It's a hard song to listen to, which is what makes it so good.
Bill, Rebecca, can we hear other tracks, maybe ones not so sad?

I'm starting to think this is another IG album that I need to get.
Everybody in my galactic presidential campaign misses you so much, Ann... you were a wonderful writer... rest in peace, friend... time flies when we're having fun... we love this song... we love sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll...
Ann Lucas passed away February 6, 2012, at University of Utah Medical Center, at age 55 due to a subdural hematoma, which required surgery. She was put on life support, but after three days without signs of improvement, her family made the difficult decision to discontinue life support and donate her organs on the 6th.
Ann was born on Oct. 12, 1956, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Buss and Dorothy Stepp, who encouraged her to follow her dreams. One dream was to become a published author, which she achieved in 2010 with her novel "Life-Dance". She also wrote fan fiction for the television show "La Femme Nikita".
Ann was also a freelance correspondent for the "Elko Independent" newspaper and had a recurring column called "Shaking the Tree", as well as writing articles for "Elko Daily Free Press".
Thanks fro the background and information, Romeo.
