So many others moving so fast
I feel my heart smoke
As we go under it and bow down
Nothing left on this island
Upon steel on steel
Through these cuts in me
Ive no question who was here first
Many dreams many lifetimes
Any of which could be me
'cept that I'm the one unable to move
Upon this machine
Upon this machine
Pardon caravan emotion
Loaded crowds just like me
I fell between the moments
I fell between the endings
Cuz when it runs around the windows
Nothing here is still
All the paths have collided
Through all these villages and hills
So many dreams so many lifetimes
Any of which could be me
'cept that I'm the one unable to move upon this machine
Theres no one else, no one else,
no one else, no one else.
Theres no one else, no one else,
no one else, no one else.
Theres no one else,
no one else, no one else,
no one can help me now
Help me Im stuck in this moving thing
Nothing is what it seems
No getting off this machine
I always hear "pommes machine" [pommes means fries in German]
And apples in French.
Very trippy song. 8->9. Oh yeah.
Younger Brother manufactures endorphins. I ride along, with a satisfied mindset.
Exactly. And I've just injected my 4:20 dose of marijuanas! (See below.)
This Vaccine I do trust!
sorry to hear that it's bad for U
I bet this is the kind of music pot users listen to when they inject their marijuanas.
Some of us absorb it through osmosis.
This Vaccine I do trust!
I bet Clapton's really anti this album.
.
Opening is very reminiscent of early Tangerine Dream (which is just fine with me).
They give credit where it's due.
What a great tune!
I lived in Scotland for a year and would walk to uni. The road that took me there was lined with Japanese cherry blossom trees. What a treat on the brisk spring mornings. One of the best times of my life. It's funny how this song sort of feeds into these memories. It normally works the other way round.
Thanks for keeping it in rotation. :)

Well here we are. More content please!! :)
If you like this, then you might really enjoy the "Calling All Stations" Genesis album. Sounds a lot like this.
That's the one... Had Mike and the Mechanics in my head but couldn't quite place it!! Thanks
It looks as if I've only joined recently, but I've been an RP fan for over 10 years now. On those days when I'm undecided what to listen to, I just turn on the puter and click! Most days actually ;-)
A dyslexic addict I know got pecked to death when he tried to inject a heron.
May be the same one who tried devil worship and sold his soul to Santa? - I'll get my coat
I think it's just this album. But lately a Borax bath is supposed to counteract ... something.
borax is Xarob spelled backwards, ALL HAIL XAROB
Don't listen to this band, it'll alter your dna
:-D

Do you really inject marihuana? Actually, marihuanaS ! Multiple marijuana. But who is Mari Juana?
After many listens I have to conclude this is a solid 10, not a mere 9.
Me too!

I coul use some vaccine 😑
I could use a better reality. this one suxxxx!!
The album art would be enough for that.
I'm seeing a guy getting shot at by a cotton candy Gatling gun? What the hell did I just smoke...?
Also reminds me of Pink Floyd.

ISSA JOKE
Enjoy the sounds, straight edge or not
Zeito gets his info from 45.
Can't put it any better than that!
Vocals kind of remind me of something by Mike and the Mechanics, or maybe Alan Parsons... Help me out here... Can't quite get it...
Maybe Alan Parsons, maybe Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds?
Between this station the current from Minnesota KEXP from Washington and WFMU from jersey city. My tastes have broadened
It's like saying "this is the music dieters listen to when they snort their salad"
LOL! ...Too funny! ...spot on!

Simon Posford has done so much good stuff - I hear Shpongle on RP all the time - but In Dub by Hallucinogen and Hicksville by Celtic Cross have the most YB feel to his earlier stuff. Simon Posford is an electronic genius. Almost everything he has touched is electonic gold.
"It's the next wave, Pytrance, Downtempo, Psybient, but it's still Rock'n'Roll to me."
–Billy Joel
He-ey
I did. Still sounds, and reads, like warmed over Pink Floyd to me.
Sure, but then PF is no longer with us, so carry on Younger Brother.. Love this, and could only imagine how cool it would be to hear it sitting on a fast train staring out the window.
would be very hard to do that .strange person read your books
Idiotic remark

OK, it's derivative. But what is entirely original? I like the way they put the pieces together. Can't complain about an enjoyable song, no matter if ideas- or the cover art - takes off from someone else. Not plagiarism, but inspiration.
Exactly, all music is derived from music which preceded it. It's a pretty cool sound that these guys make."
I was about to post that I have been upvoting many, many songs that I have on my favorites playlist just because I enjoy listening to them. Anyone remember "Seasons in the Sun."
You bastard. I'm gonna have that dreck stuck in my head all day.
BTW, I've never heard the B-side of SitS, but I've been told it's even worse. I think it's called 'Leave the Bone In'. Make of that what you may.

Exactly, all music is derived from music which preceded it. It's a pretty cool sound that these guys make. Anyhow, the cover design for this album was done by Storm Thorgerson, who also designed many covers for Pink Floyd, as well as many other recording artists.
Yes, that's a Storm Thorgerson photo, all right!
Oh, and while I was looking for that confirmation I found an interview Younger Brother did with Thorgerson. Dunno if it's any good yet, but I'm saving it for later.

Well, who hasn't borrowed from Chuck Berry?
Especially at his time of day (night) (it's 23:30 hrs over here).
I do prefer "Ribbon on a Branch" track.

I listened this song back in 2011 for the first time and since then it doesn't get boring. Thanks RP for that!
ps: 6 years to figure out the train sound samples within the song, better late than later
He come groovin' up slowly
Cheers from The Netherlands
Definitely hearing an Alan Parsons refrain here. Nice.
Me three!!!
So true! Did the same again
I've checked more of their work and the quality doesn't disappoint - this is no "one hit wonder" but real talent :)

That's the end of that story... I know it didn't have much of a point, but not all stories do.

I would too but the damn ratings are stuck at 10!!!
Maybe Alan Parsons, maybe Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds?
YES!!
And I type this on the eve of "It was Midnight, on the 12th of August" happy to hear that WotW reference, as the Persied showers are peaking this weekend, a wonderful way to remember fiction written centuries ago!!
LLRP!!
