Do you remember the late morning
When we went back to bed,
When we found the first position
And every muscle resting

I do remember that I already knew
It was the last time,
The last time for first positions
The last time you'll be mine

Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao
Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao

Do you remember the scars I showed you
The stories I told you
How I always said forever
When you asked me to stay true
Do you remember when we forgot
How to smile at each other
To believe that the other
Want only what's good for you

Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao
Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao

Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao
Aaaaoo aoo aoo ao

Do you remember the late morning
When we went back to bed,
When we found the first position
And every muscle resting

I do remember that I already knew
It was the last time,
The last time for first positions
The last time you'll be mine

great tune with a nightmarish video
Mind-blowing video, wow.
The more I hear Ane Brun's music the more I fall in love with it... She's an incredible talent!
If only Bill would break in on the mike and sing along with "aaaaoo, aaaaoo, aaaaoo, aaaaoo".  I bet Wolfman Jack would have done it.

Maybe an audio  Rorschach?

The Joffrey Ballet very effectively used Ane Brun's  "Do you Remember" a few years ago in the Winter "Contemporary Composers" program.  I was unfamiliar with Ms. Brun's work at the time but now that I hear it on RP, it brings as I recall a lovely evening out with my wife and an excellent Joffrey performance.

"Never have I worked so hard to cement a failure" - The Shins
I had to mute this. Yuck!
For those interested, and I'm looking at you Bill, there is a stronger more rhythmic, propulsive, and compelling version of this song. It is included in Ane's "Songs 2003-2013" compilation.
we are the gecko, we are the gecko, we are the gecko
The more I hear this woman, the more interesting she is - exceptional, imo

Been hearing this song on RP for ages and thought it was Joanie Mitchell.

Just not in the mood for this this morning. PSD.
At about 8-10 seconds into the song, and faintly behind the drums, it sounds like a guy (guys?) grunting with effort, either wrestling or hefting a piano {#Cheesygrin}

Thanks RP.  This will be playing in my head now for days.

I agree completely!
Hmm, in Ms. Brun's native language this song title would be "husker du".  Quite a cool tune.
The video for this is remarkable.
Who was it? Gruppa, the drummer played a song like that?
I'm gona sit back and listen

You complain about other commenters more than anyone,
You are also:
The most negative about songs of any commenter on RP
The nastiest about opinions that differ from your own, constantly attacking other commenters; Labeling others with hateful, bullying, and intimidating epithets like "troll" on just about every other thread
A world class anti-American hate mongerer and bigot
Supporter of murderers and murderous regimes going back 100 years
I don't think you like the music, you just like to stir things up politically
I suspect you are a professional agitator
You are our resident thought policeman troll
It is time for you to go.

I support this station financially and I don’t think I should have to scroll endlessly through advertising. When I scroll the comment board at work, all of his images come up on my screen as blank white spaces. I work on a network, it's not like at home with my high speed connection. No one will want to write quality comments here if they know in advance that their contributions will have to compete with advertising and get pushed off the screen and quickly off the page into oblivion.

As for you, I have complimented you for your contributions on more than a few occasions. You have a lot to offer the forum, but you must stop the cutting and pasting of non-relevant material that you did not write. You also hog too many comment pages and discourage others from wanting to contribute.  It hurts this forum tremendously. When you exercise your right to free speech to the extent that it prevents other contributors from exercising theirs, I will support the ban to be re-imposed on you, Lazarus.  Freedom of expression does not mean freedom to hog the comment board and monopolize the discussion with non-relevant material that is not even your own material.

Sonny, you should not be wasting time at work dwelling on the behavior or style of other music fans.
Shame on you.

This song is a standout!  If I am remembering correctly, her other songs that are played on RP are a different flavor than this.

You don't own these pages. If you find specific posts offensive, demeaning or excessively insulting, I urge you to take up the matter with Bill and Rebecca. If you think that calypsus_1 is spamming, you may have cause to complain under this RP Forum posting guideline:

"Discussion of actual pork products is permitted, spamming the forums is not. It's OK to mention products or services - including other radio stations - but that should not be the only reason for the post."

If you are primarily bugged because calypsus_1 posts images that your network at the office blocks, you are SOL. I do wonder what your boss, customers, donors and/or constituents would think of your perusing and/or posting to RP's boards while at work. You can get away with a lot of shenanigans while working in DC, but there are limits.

"You have a lot to offer the forum, but you must stop the cutting and pasting of non-relevant material that you did not write."

So not your call to make. Some of the stuff Lazarus pastes in does have relevance as commentary on the songs being played. I'd rather see that than your comments about your nipples, Lazarus, but maybe that's just me.

"You also hog too many comment pages and discourage others from wanting to contribute. It hurts this forum tremendously. "

Prove it. Lazarus never bogged me down. It's pretty easy to ignore something or someone on these pages. There are so many different posters and exchanges here--and so few tools to organize conversational threads--that these pages invite and almost require skimming. I think, rdo, that you want these song pages to be something they're likely never going to be. You might find and create better discussions in the RP Community forums.

"When you exercise your right to free speech to the extent that it prevents other contributors from exercising theirs, I will support the ban to be re-imposed on you, Lazarus."

From what I've heard, Lazarus was banned for excessive swearing in the Community Forums. That decision as far as I can gather was Bill and Rebecca's decision. There was no vote of ostracism or banishment among RP members. If I'm right, your support for any such ban is pointless because the matter is not and never will be in your hands.

While I have your attention, rdo: as I mentioned in my last post to Al Stewart's "Road to Moscow", I appreciate good discussions and debates on these boards but I suspect that you are using at least two user names to pump up or provoke exchanges. If I'm right, that is a violation of RP Forum posting guidelines:

"Only one active identity is allowed per person, except by permission from Bill & Rebecca. All members must keep a valid email address on file with us. You have the option of keeping your address private from other members, but we need to be able to contact you if necessary."

Personally, I find using two names to post stuff a bit odd but not too much of a problem as long as you don't try to whipsaw people between yourself and a straw man. That would be seriously FRICKING obnoxious. I really don't want to get caught between yourself and you in disguise as to whether WWII theaters beyond the Eastern Front were just side shows to the battles between Germany and the USSR.

I would also personally appreciate it if you didn't start fights on these boards just to get a debate going. You're smart enough that you don't need to be obnoxious or provocative to attract people to your ideas.

Good luck to you both and to calypsus_1.

This record "It All Starts with One" (2011) is not likely to reach the massive record sales (as we have seen with many "borracheras" music out there), and do not get a "Grammy Award" to match the commercial success (Grammy Award, a prize sales and commercial success), but undoubtedly leave its indelible mark on music history. It may be the coincidence of being awarded an "Grammy Award" to a musical work that simultaneously recognizes the artistic talent and commercial success on a large scale, but is rarely given an "Grammy Award" by the musical talent and merit, without first achieved commercial success. The first criterion is to reward the profit. Criterion dubious and very questionable. Ane Brun, for me, and i'm sure many more, you are already a Winner. "These Days" included on the album It All Starts with One......very Intimate, very intense,  Charming!... Peter Gabriel influence?  In a world as unstable "these days", and devouring mentality, I think it takes courage and determination, able to maintain a course and a vocation, and present a set of songs, a work of this style, with a truly remarkable degree of depth and refinement. Counter cycle. It is not for everyone.  For that reason alone, it deserves special mention. This young lady is an Elected.
Has anyone noticed, on the album cover, which one eye is represented by (ring) the head of a tiger?

"Alfonsina y el mar" is a song made famous by Mercedes Sosa. Alfonsina y el Mar (1969), is a composition of the pianist and composer Argentinian, Ariel Ramirez, produced in collaboration with writer Felix Luna, being one of the most regarded songs in Argentinian folk music, and pays homage to poet Alfonsina Storni, when she died into the sea at La Perla beach in Mar del Plata, and the poem she wrote as a goodbye message, I Am Going to Sleep.

Is surprising the courage and determination of the choice of this song, root as far, by Ane Brun, a woman Nordic, by its deep significance that the same song contains within itself, makes all the difference and is commendable.

Ane Brun
sings in perfect Spanish and she explains that she learned this language to be able to listen to the music, and that this song is her favourite. Simply beautiful. Bravo! Ane, Muchas gracias.

Y fosforecentes caballos marinos haran
Una ronda a tu lado
Y los habitantes del agua van a jugar
Pronto a tu lado.

Bajame la lampara un poco mas
Dejame que duerma nodriza en paz
Y si llama el no le digas que estoy
Dile que alfonsina no vuelve...
Y si llama el no le digas nunca que estoy,
Di que me he ido...

What's all this talk about First Position? Is she learning how to play the trombone? {#Angel}

Ditto!
I love this!
I have nothing to say about this song but hell wouldn't it be nice to be rid of that awful poor quality animation
