Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I've come through
(And I mean to go on and on and on)
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting 'till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions
Of the world
I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose, ah
(And I mean to go on and on and on)
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting 'till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions
Of the world
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting 'till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions
Had a conversation with a few friends the other day about how certain songs were paired up on the radio in the 70's and 80's, and they all thought I was crazy. I remember this song following We Will Rock You. Journey's Feeling That Way/Anytime, The Cars Living In Stereo/All Mixed Up, I'm sure a lot more can be named. I wonder how two songs got intertwined like that. Maybe because they were both short and fit in the same space?
We are the champions and we will rock you were released as the same single...
Thanks Bill for playing We Will Rock You and We are the Champions in sequence. You rock!
Bill reads our comments!

BTW Queen was my very first rock concert (Cologne, 1979) at the tender age of 12 years. It was the for the "Jazz" tour. My parents had no clue to into what they let me go to with my friend...
Our bellydance troupe choreographed a number to this song, along with "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Fat Bottomed Girls". We performed at a half time show for a roller derby match. Good times!

We'll agree to disagree on this one. I still have a soft spot for the Scorpions even though the word "overplayed" just has the lyrics of "Rock You Like A Hurricane" after it in the dictionary.
There are plenty of songs for me that get downgraded because I hear them too much, but man, just gimme "Gimme Shelter" by the Stones and "Twilight Zone" by Golden Earring and I'm a happy boy, no matter how often I have to hear them.
Please, no more. It was indeed a great song that has been so overplayed that has long since turned to just plain painful.
I must reluctantly agree. I would be happy to never hear this song again.
How about something from Queen II or Sheer Heart Attack?
Jeez, no no, don't play this. This is not music, Brittney sounds better!
Ok. Here ya go...

BuhBye!

This song has been tainted in my mind. :P
The Jam Peons!
So sad, yet so true.
Jeez, no no, don't play this. This is not music, Brittney sounds better! Why oh why is this popular ?
Really?
Overplayed does not equal bad musicality.
Though I guess overly dramatic whinging might be a side effect.
Bill can do better when it comes to picking songs from this amazing band.
He only plays the obvious.
Counterpoint: It's a good song, and it belongs in the mix. The fact that you hear it often elsewhere doesn't diminish the quality of the song.
Have to disagree here. One of the biggest determinants in how much I dislike a song is how often I hear it. For instance, our office played Journey nonstop - sometimes I was subjected to hear it 5 times in a single day! Now with Corona, I get to work from home and am listening to RP. No more Journey! The only good thing to come out of the pandemic.
Ik geef dit onvergetelijke stukje voetbal historie een 1.
Ich glaube dass Sie verstehen nicht, mein Freund.
Schade.
Illustrator Kelly Freas produced a lot of scifi book and magazine covers; this is by him, inspiration from one of those.

100% disagreement, this song is great, cliché or otherwise, this gets a 9 from me...Long Live RP and BillG's decisions!!
My rating is a SOLID 8 - Most Excellent

¡Campeones!

Seems it's not limited to U.S. play. I suspect we'd get some U.K. love too.
Along with "Another One Bites The Dust".

Please, I hear this often enough at sports events, it's become a cliche not worthy of RP. It's not like it need any more exposure.
Yes, great song but I've heard it too many times
