Had a conversation with a few friends the other day about how certain songs were paired up on the radio in the 70's and 80's, and they all thought I was crazy. I remember this song following We Will Rock You. Journey's Feeling That Way/Anytime, The Cars Living In Stereo/All Mixed Up, I'm sure a lot more can be named. I wonder how two songs got intertwined like that. Maybe because they were both short and fit in the same space?

Funny that William is playing this just after John Summit’s Comfort in Chaos. There were a few comments on that song sounding like hold Muzak. While listening to it and re-reading those comments, I remembered a late night shopping trip at the 24-hr grocery store, back in the early 90’s, when I heard a Muzak version of We Are the Champions. I remember thinking that the Baby Boomers growing older was having some unforeseen consequences…
The pinnacle of Rock Opera, in my opinion. What a fantastic song; such a celebration of voice and theater and sonic excellence! It blew us all away. We couldn't get enough of it. I must say, I am forever grateful indeed for this song, since once I knew I could really pull it off when challenged by staff and eager patrons, it funded countless wild, adventurous drinking expeditions for friends and I in karaoke bars from Ishigaki to Hakodate. 良かった! I was 2 years old when this came out. But when i was 19 i baught the cd. How i loved it, and i still do! So spread your wings and fly away!

This song can only be played together with "We Will Rock You". We always listened to both songs in sequence in the 70s/80s.
BTW Queen was my very first rock concert (Cologne, 1979) at the tender age of 12 years. It was the for the "Jazz" tour. My parents had no clue to into what they let me go to with my friend...

Nice to hear more than the chorus from this classic. I just wish it sounded better.... clipped cymbals.

I cannot believe the 7.7 rating on this song. Anyone that grew up in the 70'2 and 80's can't help to think that this song is one of the most groundbreaking, era defining songs of all time. It might as well be the anthem that ushered in the excess of the 80's
When the Islanders won the Stanley Cup they played this at the Coliseum. I'm fine with never hearing it again.
I was lucky enough to see Queen at Lancaster University (UK) before they were famous. They blew everybody's minds that night and we all knew that we had seen something special! 
I think this is a good song, BUT classic rock radio overplayed it so much, I can't take it anymore and hit the skip button. So many songs fall into this same situation, such as Pink Floyd's Money, Led Zeppelin Rock and Roll, etc.

Does anyone know the meaning of the album cover? I remember seeing that as a youngster and thought it was strange, but now I figure there's probably a deeper meaning to it.

It'd be fantastic to hear a full version of this with just Freddie's (soft) vocals and piano and John Deacon's bass. Queen sometimes suffered from being like many bands in one, though I suppose this helped keep them together
I am still burned on this song from when it was overplayed to death 40 years ago.

Queen brings a smile to my face, most especially "Another one bites..." , which I would love to hear on Nov. 6th for Rmoney

Song is pretty good, but not near good enough to stand the perpetual onslaught of hyper overplay this poor song has had to endure. Sorry, the poor thing just couldn't stand it. Fortunately I am not listening and hopefully I never hear this song again. Fantastic album BTW!

This song represented a banal low even for Queen. Plodding beat, simplistic lyrics, fit only as a stadium singalong (as which it was undoubtedly designed). Pop pap.
