Oh, I beg you, can I follow?
Oh, I ask you, wanna always
Be the ocean, where I unravel
Be my only, be the water where I'm wading
You're my river running high, run deep, run wild

I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark room honey, I follow you

Heed a message, I'm the runner
He's the rebel, I'm the daughter waiting for you
You're my river running high, run deep, run wild

I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark room honey, I follow you

You're my river running high, run deep, run wild

I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark room honey, I follow you

I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark room honey, I follow you

This was/is the theme song for a BBC radio comedy about an Englishman that emigrates to live with his girfriend (and her family) in Sweden.

Called "The Cold Swedish Winter" https://www.bbc.co.uk/programm...

Amusing, oh yes and the song is quite good.
I much prefer the original.  Way better.

yep. i enjoy this version sooooooooo much better.
Am I the only one hearing some quantization squeak, even in Flac?

Ruben has an amazing vocal! Please do play some other songs from Triggerfinger, they are fantastic musicians, and their original songs are very different from this cover.
Great band from one of the "low countries" : Belgium & The Netherlands, in this case Belgium. Please check them out : wonderfull Heavy stuff !

I like the vocals on this a lot.  It sounds like Ray before the bronchitis...

Good version from a band that I don't usually care for.

I Lykke the original, but this is so much better. I've seen subsequent live recordings and it appears the teacup percussion became a shtick.
Check out their cover of Man Down for something that kills the original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUpSyyi8K40

So good to hear this song back in rotation. This is why I tune in to rp.

Tears for Fears called. They want their bell sound effect back.

The original idea for the "bell sound" is said to be instant improvisation done live for a radio show using a knife, coffee cup and tea glass. All in all a very decent cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzWQV5OiQQQ

For some reason, this song crossed my mind just last night, and I thought, "Bill hasn't played that one in a long while." Turns out to be four years. Hm.

Hua this song I hear too often. I rarely have some complaints about songs and I can accept practically all creative things made on this planet. But this is one of the songs that annoys me big time with this whistling. It is totally psychic so therefore only escape is mute key. I believe it is too often on RP. No hard feelings to those that they love this song as I'm aware of a saying 100 people 100 tastes. cau, d.
Do they play in the Vs?

This is actually pretty lame compared to the music contained on their album "All This Dancin' Around".  Much more powerful stuff on that.

...such a dilemma, here's an unusual song by a group that I never heard of before and I really to start to like the song. Then I find out that this song is a cover and the original artist, someone else I've never heard of before does a different but really interesting rendition, which is starting to grow on me. Maybe it's not such a dilemma, I think they're both pretty good. Thanks for giving me the choice Bill.

They made a new cover from "Major Lazer": https://omroep.vara.nl/media/168882 :)
Before RP I never heard of this song, now I have heard two versions. I like them both but the other is outstanding.
Irritating.

While I really like this song, and had no idea until recently that it was a cover, it was the album picture that forced me to to check out their other stuff.  It seemed so odd to see a guy that looked like that singing stuff that sounds like this...  Even their normal stuff seems odd coming out of his mouth.  Anyway, a new favorite band for me, and another album sold due to RP.

Me too!
IMHO, this is better than the Lykke Li's original. More emotion into the singing, which I prefer over the "nymphette" mousy voice of Ms. Li. And considering that was a single take after a few minutes of practice in a radio studio ... pretty darn good.

Indeed, I am astonished too.

I am still wondering why in Belgium and the Netherlands  this insipid cover managed to reach the music top charts even while Lykke Li's superb original was still rightly sojourning there. To my dismay it seems to last longer than the original, to this day being regularly played at even the more respectable radio stations in Belgium.

With the native underdog feeling of small country dwellers, Belgians may overrate their own produce, but  I hope RP, as the weatherglass of the global tasteful audience, shows somewhat more maturity and commits this cover to the lowest shelves of the dusty and silent archives, where it belongs.

WHAT?!?! This was a huge hit here in the Netherlands. An improvised rendition, apparently they rehearsed this 20 minutes or so before they played this live in the studio during a live show (this is a one-time one-take recording). The ting-ting sounds are a couple of glasses they grabbed from the studio...

Very surprised to hear this here on RP.

Incredible. Totally in love with that man.
Lykke Li is so much better!
This is from belgium and usually much more heavy rock.very nice band.see it as a ballad like faith no more and so many other hard rock bands made.nice from bill to discover this one

I just don't get why RP is playing this cover and has rejected the much better Lykke Li original.

It was okay until the whistling. 4

Kind of repetitious.  Like all of Bob Marley's stuff. meh.
That's one mean-looking dude on the album cover. That Zapata 'tache looks hard enough to cut wood. Fine song, luckily - I'm not sure I'd dare give a bad review to a guy like that. 7 from the timid Nottingham jury.
Great song. I had only heard Lykke Li's version.
