Oh, I ask you, wanna always
Be the ocean, where I unravel
Be my only, be the water where I'm wading
You're my river running high, run deep, run wild
I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark room honey, I follow you
Heed a message, I'm the runner
He's the rebel, I'm the daughter waiting for you
You're my river running high, run deep, run wild
I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark room honey, I follow you
You're my river running high, run deep, run wild
I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark room honey, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark room honey, I follow you
Who remembers the hype? In 2012 this song was everywhere! This and Lykke Li.
yep. i enjoy this version sooooooooo much better.
It's because it was a spontanious recording for Dutch radio. After that it became a 'hit' in the Netherlands.
And Belgium
If I had the opportunity, I'd be covering a lot of Rhianna too.
She may or may not like that, depending on the mastery of your instrument.
Trevorfinger.
Actor Steven Ogg, who was also the voice of Trevor in the GRAND THEFT AUTO 5 videogame!
... Walton Goggins in his next dramatic appearance...
I like the vocals on this a lot. It sounds like Ray before the bronchitis...

That's cool
yes, but what about the teacups?

The original idea for the "bell sound" is said to be instant improvisation done live for a radio show using a knife, coffee cup and tea glass. All in all a very decent cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzWQV5OiQQQ
Drum machine????????????

Agreed. I'm sure this would get a round of applause at a karaoke bar. But, a stunningly different re-interpretation, this ain't.

I'm still loving it. Keep playing.
I should have taken coffee cup lessons like Mom wanted me to..
Love the coffee cup percussion on the live cut. Super cool.

The whistling gets me every time too, but in a bad way. Mute. Back in five.
edit: Nope, Likke Li.
Actually, I've had enough.

The U.S. iTunes doesn't have it, but if the Dutch (?) iTunes store has it.
amazon has it.
Amazon has a page for the CD, but doesn't offer the download.
(unless I'm missing something)
The "mean looking dude" is the singer/songwriter/guitar player, very authentic guys.
Take a listen to their other stuff.
While I really like this song, and had no idea until recently that it was a cover, it was the album picture that forced me to to check out their other stuff. It seemed so odd to see a guy that looked like that singing stuff that sounds like this... Even their normal stuff seems odd coming out of his mouth. Anyway, a new favorite band for me, and another album sold due to RP.
amazon has it.
Me too!

not complaining.

Indeed, I am astonished too.
I am still wondering why in Belgium and the Netherlands this insipid cover managed to reach the music top charts even while Lykke Li's superb original was still rightly sojourning there. To my dismay it seems to last longer than the original, to this day being regularly played at even the more respectable radio stations in Belgium.
With the native underdog feeling of small country dwellers, Belgians may overrate their own produce, but I hope RP, as the weatherglass of the global tasteful audience, shows somewhat more maturity and commits this cover to the lowest shelves of the dusty and silent archives, where it belongs.
Very surprised to hear this here on RP.
I like Lykke Li's original much better.
Agreed.
I've got a bit of a girl crush on her ;)
It was okay until the whistling. 4

Amusing, oh yes and the song is quite good.
