In time, this won't even matter
This chapter will be long on the grass
And we'll talk about everything 'til it's easier
Your beauty is nothing compared to what

You will become, you will become
You will bcome, in time, become

And we talked about talk of a gold ring
And you brought me one step closer to the heart of things
We talked about everything 'til we laughed about it
Your honesty is nothing compared to what

You will become, you will become
You will become, in time, become
You will become, you will become
You will become, in time, become

You will become, you will become
You will become, in time, become

If you like this, look up Glen Hansard and Colm Mac Con Iomaire.... they make beautiful music together!
Where's that John Belushi Animal House guitar gif when you need it?

Would a reference to Jim Croce be too cliche?

It wouldn't be "cliche" because one seldom hears Jim Croce's music - or even his name - very much anymore.  It's not a comparison one sees here as often as "sounds like Mumford & Sons, Pink Floyd, John Lennon", etc.  Other than that, this guy doesn't sound much like Jim Croce to me.

I think his condition, currently reflected in has utterly depressing music, is treatable...
Nicely painted cover art.

Something to do with the harmonic content of his voice?

We're becoming something,
  what I'm talking about is
    We laugh about it.

I'm also not hearing it.

Lovely

Yes, indeed.

Lovely
The cover art looks a good realist painting of a photograph.    {#Propeller}
just really heard this but i tend to like his stuff.
Cool song. Can't help, however, thinking there's a slighty creepy undertone, viz:

"Your beauty / honesty etc is nothing compared to what .... you WILL become .... in time."

Really. How? Can't help feeling the Red Dragon would approve.

I like it, but it does make me want to drop the morning's plans and go and watch The Committments, which actually isn't a bad thing, really.

I've been meaning to watch "The Committments" again, myself!

Very good track, but as I said before there are 3 or 4 better songs on the album than this one.
Not sure who was first, but sounds like Ray LaMontagne?!?

Love Glen Hansard, The Frames, Sweet Season...  Bring 'em on!  (I believe it's "bollocks." {#Angel}

In the vernacular of Glen Hansard's homeland, it's "bollocks" if you don't like it, but if you do, it's "the dog's bollocks".
Big difference.

*Swell Season

I love them all as well! Thanks for playing them!
I don't know him...
The whole album is very solid for me, probably my favorite work by him so far. I uploaded one other track but it was sent into "reviewing" purgatory...

Yeah — I thought I was hearing Ben Harper too!
A "new" Cat Stevens?
I've loved Glen Hansard after watching Once. That movie's soundtrack shows how good he is, and hopefully it brought people closer to his music. This song in particular is very sad but has somethingvery special about it too. Nice selection.
WOW! Very moving - I'm hearing the inner Cat Stevens and Ben Harper being channeled — very honest and nice. Granted not a party tune, but a needed respite on the long road ahead. Follow up with William Fitzsimmons fits nicely as well, but... you better pick it up, I can't rest at this stop much longer!!! Things to do, people to see, merchandise to be broken, heads to roll, etc., etc., etc.
There really is something about this tune. It's different and rather enjoyable
Snoozer.
There is something about it that reminds me of Astral Weeks.
Sad as hell. Still quite likable.
There seems to be something really forced and insincere with a majority of his music - but I thought his work w/ the Frames was better than his single work. I feel he is trying too hard to be poignant like a traditional tortured Irish poet, but falls very short. While I like the music for its atmosphere, I rarely feel moved or remember it beyond the end of the tune.
