This was available by free download originally from AdultSwim, looks to be available elsewhere now (beware from where you try to get it). It is apparently not a part of Wye Oak's own catalog.
It's my favorite song of theirs, and apparently doesn't fit most of their works' genre from what I read once.

Yes, it is reminiscent of that sound.  It's a loop of marimba, not xylophone or vibraphone, and it's apparently meant to emulate the 'minimalist' works by Riley and Reich - they're not trying to fool anyone. It was composed as a one-off single for an Adult Swim series, and is quite different from their other work.

Actually, white oaks, which is what I believe the Wye Oak was, grow in every state in the eastern half of the United States - as far north as Minnesota and Maine.

My first thought about the guitar-intro was definitely "Alan Parsons' Project".
I used to be a fan of APP, but it smells a bit cheesy nowadays.
This one is quite OK, but it ends up a bit flat. It could do with a bit more "Bang".

I really like it! The vocals have a little too much delay and reverb, but great track. I generally prefer less processing on vocals (Dido is a perfect example, no effects at all). Some of the vocal processing Peter Gabriel used with Genesis on The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway was interesting, but it generally lasted just for a line or verse.
