I dream in blue
I drown in dew
I left home on account of you
always loving someone new
I dream in blue.

I gave my time
Dollar and dime.
I left home on account of wine
making me believe you're mine
I gave my time.

I looked away
day after day
I left home on account of rain
slowing down my glory train
I looked away.

I've seen those crows
All in a row
I left home on account on snow
buried all the things I know
I've seen those crows

I dream in blue
I drown in dew
I left home on account of you
always loving someone new.
I dream in blue.

I left home on account of you
always loving someone new.
I dream in blue.

I dream in blue.
I dream in blue.
I..

Rap, banjo, bagpipes? here you go:

The Most Unwanted Song

Had the good fortune to see them in Lancaster. Good time and a good show. Vibe of the band fits wit the town.

throw in an accordian along with banjo and fiddle and i'm there

this is Such a pretty song. thanks RP
Love their sound.  Banjo and fiddle... vocals. Awesome! Reminds me of Elephant Revival!   The red headed dude looks like the banjo player in ER!  Thanks RP... Groovin!
Reminds me of a UK bluegrass trio called Cardboard Fox.  Nice voice.
I just looked at their website, to be informed that they have disbanded. Tour cancelled. And I was trying to learn about this group. They have a really interesting sound that works within the bluegrass and country tradition, as I hear it, and now it evaporates...
Nice fiddle
This is a lovely, lovely song; I just wish I could get over my hatred of the sound of a banjo. The urge to paddle faster is never far away...
Pretty sure the lyrics (written text) are incorrect.

"making me believe your mind" should be "making me believe you're mine".

Very nice song.

Love this song. Folksy without being too country.

Bluegrass/Old time, not Country at all.

Love this song on many levels. Always a great band to see and support if you get the chance. Genuinely nice people.

But now they have disbanded and cancelled their fall tour. Bummer.

Add a little sitar and make it easy to move your feet.

Really liked this
Fine, soulful fiddle.

seriously, though, I don't understand why banjos are so divisive.

Not nearly so much as bagpipes. Now, there's divisiveness for you.

Bags and pipes, all in a row. Smiling scarily.
Paddle faster.
Much faster !

Hear, hear! More from them, indeed.
Beautiful set underway. Just flowing. Grazie mille.

Very nice indeed!
This weekend I saw them again in Northampton MA and they played this song for the woman I was with. Very cool. Super nice people and great musicians.

Bear McCreary has spoken on this very topic (the bagpipes at least)

Not any more.
Saw Stray Birds this weekend at a local venue on a whim. Didn't think we knew them, and so we were shocked when they played this song and we realized we had heard them on RP! Great concert, great band, great song.

I've seen this group live twice....they are fantastic.  Amazing musicians, harmony and unique sound and style.

Love this song. Folksy without being too country.

Looks and sounds like back in the day. Not a bad thing in my opinion.

"Crystal Persuasion" -- that said, I love this.
This trio from Pennsylvannia is amazing!   Saw them in So. Illinois and Memphis in coffeeshop and they are getting such a following.  NPR folk album of the year .....love this song!

And I think you should listen to some of Bela Fleck's early stuff, which I think is truly beautiful. (Unfortunately, a few years ago, Mr. Fleck performed in NL with a bass guitar player and the evening was awful. So I stick with his old stuff.)

Are you referring to bass player Victor Wooten?  That guy is awesome!

Holy cow, Bill.  Great juxtaposition with Ndauvara.  Lyrically speaking.
Every child should be issued two things at birth: 1) a puppy, 2) a banjo.  (to paraphrase Charles Schultz)
These guys would get mauled by the Stray Cats.
cant define why but I like this.
If you keep picking - it will never get better.

Ha!  Dream on.  My 12-year old kid is learning the banjo, and getting damn good at it.  He's your worst nightmare.
 gvan wrote:

I just hope I never have to live there!

First listen for me and I liked it.... a lot !

Damn it Bill, I don't have 50 bucks or more to buy another artist's discography.  OK, checked their website, an EP and debut CD so only $25 at this point.  I sometimes think Bill is single-handedly trying to save the CD business.  I grumble, but I do thank you and Rebecca for bringing so much good music into my life!
So excited to hear The Stray Birds on RP! I don't know how I missed the earlier plays. My husband used to play banjo with Chuck, the bassist, and you couldn't find a nicer guy (except maybe my husband ;-) Thanks, RP, for the highlight of my day!
Pass the wine- you can't beat a banjo and a lovely voice

Plagiarism is not a victimless crime! Just kiddin... love this tune.  Reminiscent of the Jenny's, sure, but still its own and well worth a listen.

Recently discovered this band. Potential. Would have to see them live before i finally make my mind up. For no, 6/10.
Clearly, Bill is a sucker for a good bass line.  {#Yes}

Well, so am I.  This is definitely not bad.
I really enjoyed this, but I can see how some might not.
I dream of a world without banjos.
Loving the instrumentation
Nice...not annoying at all...
